Wasteland 2
I'll edit this with some links later, but I couldn't find a thread. Has anyone played the original? It came out in 1988, so it's possible no one here has.
The original release date was supposed to be in October, then they said the beta was gonna be released this month. From what I've read, nobody really knows when this game is coming out.
EDIT:
Some videos:

Re: Wasteland 2
I've heard of it. Text based computer RPG, right? One of the early games.

Re: Wasteland 2
I bought the original on Steam and it's probably one of the better games I've played lately. It's on sale for like $3 right now, I highly recommend it. You do have to read the manual though, that's something I haven't done in a long time

Re: Wasteland 2
Getting tired of playing unfinished games but paying full price for em and getting a "yeah, we'll fix it later" that is enveloping every release now.
Re: Wasteland 2
It seems to be happening all over the place. BF 4 still has dozens of issues but they already have a DLC out.Lord Pheonix wrote:Getting tired of playing unfinished games but paying full price for em and getting a "yeah, we'll fix it later" that is enveloping every release now.

Re: Wasteland 2
I don't really care about early releases, because it means we get to play the game before it's done and have a more active role in how it's crafted (other than, you know, funding the whole goddamn thing).
As for Day 1 DLC, this extra credits video:

Re: Wasteland 2
there is a difference between day 1 DLC and games that are unfinished and bug ridden at launch that require multiple patches before the game runs smoothly.
i'm not agasint bonus dlc content offered day 1, I am against companies pushing a game out the door that I have to own for weeks before something that should have been caught in the closed beta testing portion gets resolved

Re: Wasteland 2
And during that bug ridden and unfinished game run you have already played it for a month or two and by the time the actual thing comes out you are more than likely just going to go "eh, don't really feel like playing it anymore. Already did a shit ton of that already".
I am talking about games that are trying to follow what minecraft did and allowed access to the game way early for a price and you get to play while they create. It worked for minecraft because they did constant updating and fixing but it's not something that every single kickstarter and early access game on steam has to do but that seems like the trend now.

Re: Wasteland 2
So has anyone played the early access beta? I don't want to buy it until the full game is released. I'm still working on the original. I haven't played it in a few weeks, but I was enjoying it.

I backed it during its kickstarter, but still haven't gotten around to checking it out, like most games I have...
