EVE Online

Not sure how there is NO thread about this.

Anyway, I've been getting really involved in EVE online over the past 8 months. I am the CEO of a corporation of a great group of pilots. We recently joined a larger alliance that is also going to war in what could become the newest Great War of New Eden, involving the two largest Alliances in the game and their allies. Along with this we've been getting into the propaganda and meta-gaming. I even had some art I made as commentary used in a major pc gaming news site.

My in-game character is Kristalll, and my corporation can help you on your feet. If you've been curious about EVE in the past, now is a GREAT time to join due to the huge war, and I can get you onto the front lines with good support.

I know there is a 14-day trial on steam, and I can only ask that you use the above link to sign up, then download the game on steam if you want to use steam (I suggest using standalone but that's personal). It gives me a small reward which I am willing to share with you if you do decide to make your account official, as well as put the rest towards growing the corporation.

The ground combat is from the Free to Play connected shooter on the PS3 Dust 514. Currently it's only somewhat connected, but it's growing.

I, like most people I know, have looked at EVE and passed it up.  It looks like a pretty good game, but with so many decent F2P and cheap indie titles out there it isn't worth my time and money to invest in an EVE subscription.  Call me up when it goes F2P and I'll take a better look.  Even with a 21-day trial, I feel like it would be wasted effort when the period expires and it kicks me out.

This game is too crazy for me.

I used to play this game years ago and it was a lot of fun when I did. Problem was that it took so long until you were able to get anything considered a good ship barring you from doing any real mining or PvP. It may have been changed since.....idk......2005?

No pheonix, it's just that your perception was wrong lol. There is a lot to do in even a cheap basic ship, you just didn't realize it.

And Civ, EVE will never go free to play, and you won't find any free to play game like it anywhere. So it would be worth it simply to experience a whole new type of game you've never tried.

Plus, if you get good enough at the game you can afford to extend your subscription with in game currency.

That's player made propaganda about a war completely generated by players and involving only players. Completely player generated content.

In that video you literally see over $10,000 (if you follow standard conversions) worth of ships.

I have DUST 514 now and it'd be nice to have some people to bombard objectives for me (as well as having a larger goal).

I know it wont go f2p and I know it's a pretty good game, but I still can't afford the time and money it would require to get anywhere in the game.

Im in pretty deep with this game(not recently mind you but i put a good 6+ months) and i found it fun. I do need to start it back up again...

Well, you can join us. We're currently allied with the Goons in their war against TEST.

I would but im in a small manufacturing corp, and we head declined to join the goons/other big alliances. Based the fact we like to stay independent .

I really want to start playing again and in a big group, but I really don't want a subscription....



Maybe i'll play at the end of the month, I got a nice bit of cash about to roll in. I'll do the 14/21 free days then go from there to see if I want to play.

What does your group do mainly NT? Mining, piracy, fighting, building, trading, etc? Or a good mix of all?

Guess i'll get my trial account all set up on the 29th or 30th, i'm away on business till then.

Not sure what I should do though....I enjoyed doing some mining and didn't get around to PvP much by the time I stopped playing.

Guess you can always do both with how EVE's skill point system thing worked.




Also i'm looking at this killboard thing and if i'm reading this right then your people are getting fucking murdered. In recent activity at least. One person got killed 5 times in one day.

Anyway, my post before talking about my corp. We're in a transitional phase between pvp-lite to primary pvp. We've have a few pilots deployed out in null for 2 weeks and there are always gudfites to be had, mainly in ships that take only a month to fit and fly and cost only 10m isk.

And it's is and it isn't. It's reddit in that Dreddit (corporation in TEST alliance) and Fweddit (corporation in J4LP) both spawned from Reddit, and the meta game is painting it as Dreddit's diplomatic failure at maintaining friendly relationships with corporations with a similar culture. Fweddit and J4LP sided with Goonswarm Federation and the Cluster Fuck Coalition. GSF is mainly from Something Awful, but for the most part these impact very little.

The main point of the war is that GSF is the biggest and richest alliance in the game. TEST is the second largest. GSF is invading TEST space.

The metagame talks about the "reddit civil war" as a means to spread doubt in the TEST forces. It's basically propaganda.

As long as I get payed well I don't really care about the meta now that I think about it lol.

Idk whats happening with the corp atm but if i get back on i could look into a friendship(unofficial alliance ) or maybe even an alliance if we dont have one since the last one we were in was war mongerery. also last time  i played we had 3 POS's 1 in lowsec and 2 in high sec i think(we are  gallente space though im sure a mid point for use could be ok)

Yeah, we have as many highsec poses as we need. Our current advancement phase is working on getting a ship replacement program, capitals, and blops.
