As a few of you may know, I'm going to be a video game designer.

I have a lot of ideas for games, and I thought I'd show one here.

A few of the games I want to make are MMO's.
But, the thing about my ideas is, they're all different than what's out there.

The MMO I want to make isn't like most out there.

It also brings several new things to the table.

The basic backdrop of the game (This isn't the backstory) is the U.S. Military fighting another army in a few cities in western France. I will say that the forces they're fighting are not French.

The thing that makes it different is partially the fully destructable enviornment.

Unlike the one of Battlefield: Bad Company, which is 90% destructable, the one in this game would be 100%.
That means that not only can you deatroy walls and roofs, but you could also destroy the floors, stairs, ceilings, boxes, and even guns and soldiers.

Another thing is the squad system.
All of the infantry players are assigned to squads.
Each squad sticks together, and can only go out when sent out by their command post.

If they leave their post while assigned there, they will be AWOL.

Pieman. This is just not going to work, and to quote bilco, you cant just be a game designer.

Yes it can.

Obviously the ground will not be able to be completely destroyed, all others can be dismembered.

I can use a combination of the latest partical systems and physics engines.

You guys just listen for a minute, and consider what the game would be like, not how impossible it would be to make using modern technology.

That isn't my pint damn it!

I don't think that I can just go out and start making games.

That's why I'm planning on going to college and training for this, and then after I start my own business (I plan to start low-budget and make something like a runesacpe game at first to get money) I plan to surround myself with employees trained in several different aspects of game design.

Anyway, I think the problem is, you guys aren't seeing this from my perspective.

You're thinking that I plan on making some sort of "Super Game Using Technology From The Future," when I'm really planning on making an FPSMMO with a lot of new or just tweaked features.

I'll post something in a minute to try and show what I mean.

Okay, (Sorry for the double post) this is how a battle would happen in my game.

On a command post near the front line, a squad is sent on a recon mission to investigate what the enemy has been doing about a mile from the post near some older, strong buildings.
The squad leaves, and for a while they encounter nothing. They move through the ruins of what not so long ago was a large heavily populated city.
About halfway through, an enemy sniper picks off someone in the squad, and the others take cover. They keep suppressive fire on the snipers position, when several enemy troops being flooding into the area. They get to cover, and one calls for backup.
Back at the Command Post, the message is received, and several STRYKER vehicles are sent to help the squad.
When they arrive, they start firing on the exposed enemy troops. The enemy troops take cover, and one fires a rocket at a STRYKER.
The rocket impacts the cage meant to stop RPGs.

Don't imagine this like a cut-scene, imagine it more like a game, but the players don't just run around, split up and kill or be killed.

Its just impossbile as well. Do you honestly think ANYONE in an mmo game is gonna give a fuck about formations? No. Unless u had a guild in which u wasted fucking time on learning formations. Ur idea fails. Though the idea for your game does seem somewhat solid.

The unit formation idea fails. While the design for the game itself does seem somewhat solid.

I'd love to be a game designer!!!!... but the job sucks.
You get hired for 2 or 3 years by some game company to work on a single game for the whole time, then you get fired at the end and have no job anymore. This is why I'm gunna aim for software designer. The outlook is very good for that job and you don't get fired after you finish each job.
