Black Prophecy is more action-oriented than a traditional space simulation. We are trying to avoid long travel times or other activities where the player isn't really doing anything.

EXCITING PLAYER VS. PLAYER COMBAT
Black Prophecy allows players to organize big PvP battles and also offers varied PvP missions.

CAPTIVATING STORY
Black Prophecy's universe, story and background has been created by the award-winning Sci-Fi author Michael Marrak.

MODULAR SHIP DESIGN
Player ships are not sold as whole, but instead consist of modules like cockpits, wings, engines etc. All these modules are available in different shapes and sizes, which allows the players to customize their ships.

ITEM MODIFICATION SYSTEM
In addition to the modular ship design, players can also further customize their ships by adding modifications to their ship's modules and weapons.

MODULAR CLAN STATION SYSTEM
Player clans can build clan stations that are expandable through a module system. Different modules add different functionalities to the station.

RESOURCE SYSTEM
Clans can fight each other to conquer resource stations.

AWARD AND MEDAL SYSTEM
Similar to an achievement system, players can earn medals and awards for performing specific tasks.

TACTICS SYSTEM
Players can learn and execute breakneck flight maneuvers.

Is this a console game or not?

I didnt notice any mention of PS3 or Xbox on their site, but i think its for the PC.

They did a poll asking for the input devices " Mouse+ Keyboard", "Joystick" and "Gamepad"

True. But it has much better graphics and might have better gameplay as well. and it being MMO, it seems exciting.

And Ibn, I will bev ery pleased if this game manages to match either Freespace. If the gameplay is better... then, well... the game will just be downright epic

It costs $6 to buy the game, $12 if you want the game and the expansions.

Freespace =/= Free

I hope so, Freespace 2 is a bit outdated and it is only been kept alive by the community. Its just so much a community can do.

We need a new Scifi sim with actual team behind it.

Great stuff! I loved Freelancer but X3 was too much like Elite for me to get into it (eg too much trade not enough shooting). Finally another great looking space game.

Anything anyone can recommend btw? Preferably offline. I'll look into Freespace

if you interested in Freespace, then go with Freespace 2

There is another Sci fi game by the name of freelancer. Freespace is pure fighting whereas Freelancer also has trade, and planet stops etc.

It looked a lot better then Jumpgate, thats for sure.
