Re: F.E.A.R. 3
I don't know the exact details but they kinda help each other out gameplay wise. Certain areas and objects can not be gained without the aid of the other. Fettel can posses enemys and use his powers to hold enemys in place and probably other stuff.Vigil wrote:My question is......

Point Man gets all the guns and I'm guessing the equipment etc etc. Kinda like a, he needs you, you need him kinda thing.
Again, don't know exactly whats what, maybe I should re-read my GI article.
EDIT: Here's an article I found on D-Toid talking about the co-op. Link

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
I heard that Fettel doesn't have to help the point man, and he can impeed his progress if he wants to.
The main problem I can think of is that Fettel is unkillable, while the point man is.

I don't think that's true at all. Because if it is, then there's an obvious problem.Vigil wrote:I heard that Fettel doesn't have to help the point man, and he can impeed his progress if he wants to.

No article I've read seemed to metion anything like that when they played it themselves so I can only assume.

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
My problem is, there have been too many games to find Alma scary any more. I went through FEAR 2 barely affected. There was one part where I did piss everywhere a little... But it was one instance out of 200 attempted. I just don't see how they can retain her staying scary.

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
Fear 2 deffinately lost the profoun "scaryness" that the Fear franchise was known for. This is pretty much fact among the community. For me personally, the overall atmosphere and dreadful scenes that were in the game's single player made up for the lack of honor. Even though the game is called "Fear", I can forgive it for it's gameplay, story and overall setup of the Fear Universe. I like to think of Fear as that more disturbing, dreadfull and dark military shooter rather then an actually horor game meant to scare you. Even it is called Fear and they do try to scare you many times. That's just me.
Despite this, I still enjoy Fear 2: Project Origin very much. The Multiplayer, while limited, was still extremely fun to play. Infact I find myself recently playing it again. Good times.
Funny thing, Fear never really scared me either. Same as you OB, I have literally jumped with fright one time at the franchise.
It was in Fear 1 and I went to go down a ladder. The animation starts up and i slowly get on the ladder and turn around to find little Alma staring right at my face 2 inches away along with some terrifying music.
More or less, I jumped back in my chair and yelled, "fuck!

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
I remember the ladder part. I screamed. After that happened, I was actually frightened to go down ladders. That was a good scary moment, gotta give em kudos for it. It was unexpected as hell.
But yeah, it's gone from horror to dark shooter. I see what you mean.

I even think maybe they associated it with horror becuase it was an easy label for gamers to reconize.
But that may be a bit of a stretch on my part.

Paxton Fettel's not dead anymore. He was resurrected by Foxtrot 813 in FEAR 2: Reborn.

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
The Fear series is really good. I recommend giving 1 & 2 a playthough. I assume you have Steam and I also assume that Steam would have them pretty damn cheap. But do get 3 on xbox so we can playz together.
Also yes, the music was very fitting and good.

Re: F.E.A.R. 3
I'll be sure to get the FEAR collection next time it's 50% off (which, with Steam, will probably be by the end of the week)
