School of Infantry, Marine Combat Training Empty School of Infantry, Marine Combat Training

Post by KristallNacht Sat Feb 27, 2010 2:43 pm

So I'm on liberty right now at MCT. Shit is so cash lol

Last Thursday we did a 3 mile hike with 60 pound packs, followed by a power-walk/jog in flak jacket with 2 10lbs sappy plates, kevlars, a 20lbs pack and our M16A4s to the grenade range where we got to throw live grenades. This was followed by an afternoon of combat marksmanship classes and some practice of combat maneuvers and weapon presentations.

Friday we did a Combat Fitness Test in the morning followed by a class on Tactical Field Care followed by a practice field care scenario group. Then we learned to use the radio and how to scout and report enemy movement.

That's just the first two training days of 27.

Oh and our A4s have ACOGs and front grip/bipod. And I'm a fireteam leader. Will try to get a picture of the rifle at a later date.

I just took the ASVAB (spelling?) test on Thursday.

I don't know if you took it NT, but it's the aptitude test the military gives. It's not just for military careers though, so a few people took it.

The proctor we had there was a marine (he wasn't really in uniform, but he had the uniform hat sitting on a filing cabinet) but he didn't do anything the whole time. Just passed out papers.

There was a woman there who read the beginning segments and directions to us, but that was it.

The marine sat there and played on his iPhone the whole testing period, and I said it'd be funny as hell if he were playing C0D4. Razz

It does not matter from what Armed Forces it derived from. It can be applied because of the harshness of the exercise.

Easy was Airbourne, not essentially Army. They was a bit of a conflict that resided between the two.
