Re: Guild Wars 2
every time i speak of guild wars the only insult a person can come up with is usually "You can only go to level twenty" i respond and that's it doesn't want people to kill themselves trying to grind a char instead of playing a game"
I have played wow for my friend (he gave up on it a few months so he could pass for the year) in the end i was bored out of my mind, wanted to stab blizzard for screwing up the original WC story so bad and was glad i had an excuse to never play it again.

Re: Guild Wars 2
what the wc story is not fucked
wow story is good but it needs the combined stories of wc1 wc2 and wc3 for a full understanding of the world
the story is so fast its easy for people to get lost in it and say that its the one thing the game lacks

Re: Guild Wars 2
I played the first 3 and yes the story is fucked.
1. the Dranei are not aliens they live in outland. they help you in WCIII and look nothing like those weirdos from WOW
2. BE are rejected by the alliance but they accept werewolves instead. Not elves but werewolves. something doesn't smell right here.

I will admit, they could have made the characters follow along a certain story up to a point, because you can stop a quest chain at any moment and go do something else.
1. The Dranei are an alien race to the lands of azeroth, and they fled when Illidan came with the help of the Naaru who helped them escape in their "ship" because the portal was blocked by demons.
2. Blood elves were rejected by the alliance because they were obsessed with magic more than helping their comrades. The alliance has High elves (whom cant be used as characters) who stayed with the alliance. The werewolves were accepted because they are able to control themselves instead of being the beastly creatures you fight so often, and they need all the help they can get.

Re: Guild Wars 2
but they didn't run. Illidan helps the Dranei in WCIII kill the felorc horde at the black citadel. they were allies. Please tell me you remember Akama.
and the Dranei are native to Outland. they never had a portal to azeroth. they only ones they could have used would be the same the orcs used in the first two Warcraft games.

Yes some of them stayed with Illidan, but those whom refused to submit were forced from outland. They had the Naaru (magical beings capable of GODLIKE powers) help them through another way instead of using one of the portals to Azeroth, which is how they got there.
"One month ago, a terrible explosion tore open the skies above northern Kalimdor. At that moment, the great ship Exodar plummeted from the heavens, and crashed upon the world of Azeroth. Having fled the ravaged world of Outland, the noble draenei used the dimension traveling Exodar to reach safe haven. Inspired by tales of the heroic alliance that stood against the might of the Burning Legion, the draenei have come to enlist aid in retaking their shattered homeland. Dedicated to preserving life and upholding the tenets of the Holy Light, the draenei hope to gather a new coalition of warriors to battle the Burning Legion and put a halt to its horrific Burning Crusade. Armed only with courage and their unshakeable faith in the Light, the draenei look forward to finding the alliance and ushering them towards the destiny that awaits beyond the skies of Azeroth."

Re: Guild Wars 2
Belfs are close to the forsaken with their goals being that of the same and the fact slyvanas used to be a high elf the relation ship between the two races is very strong (this is shown as blood elves start with friendly reputation with the forsaken and vice versa)
it was also the high elves who pulled out of the alliance after the second war as they felt there was not enough troops sent to quel'thalas (obviously because the other races thought they where too obsessed with magic)
the Draenei came to azeroth to escape the burning legion as two of their leaders kil'jaeden and archimonde accepted untold power from sargeras
with kil'jaeden and archimonde trying to convert the eredar to demons the third leader velen escaped their home world and went to azeroth to start anew as draenei
(they can drive their ships its just the ship is badly damaged)
the issue with the worgen is pretty simple really... forsaken took a misunderstanding as thinking they where evil worgens alike the ones from shadowfang keep (this was lead to (believe due to a powerful magic sensed from behind the greymane wall) and so they attacked them... worgens got upset and joined alliance pretty simple

Or talk about Guild Wars better story, I don't care, just do one of the two.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Much needed bump
GW2 was not at E3, because the team felt i'd rather please the people rather than the press. So they'll be at PAX and Comic con! With playable demos for the public at each.
Any who...
Introduction of the Elementalist class!!
Two of five videos demonstrating a elementalist skill in the game.
Introduction of the Warrior class!!
Video of all five Warrior skill shown on that site.
Those are in-game graphics... no joke.

A lot of people don't like the grind most MMO's have. Guild Wars 2 will, apparantly, get rid of grind entirely.

That dragon at the end looks very happy
also has anyone noticed that GW2's theme sounds very familiar to Oblivions opening Cutscene Music?

Re: Guild Wars 2
At the end of multiple videos there are hints towards the reveal of a new "elder dragon". I'm guessing that that one is the one that kinda lives in the sea
And I have noticed that the music sounds similar to oblivions themes.
