civilization

Its a good game but it takes like five hours to even finish a match, though the skirmish mode is pretty fun, I like to spam pikes So who here has played it?

I have number three. But I'm not particularly a fan.

I have 2 and 3

I like 2 better since it's easier to make scenarios and change the attributes/pictures for units and stuff

the scenarios expansion was pretty cool too

I don't really like how the defender always is able to win in 3 unless attackers have 2 tiers of tech higher military

I have 3, I never played 2. My only problem is that their way to long, I mean if it took two hours to win a match and not 10! I would love it alot more

try turning on accelerated production

it's kinda dumb, but you can get to modern ages by AD 1400 easy

OR
build lots of settlers and then start making soldiers when you get to like iron weapons and stuff. it's faster, but not as interesting as when there's ships, artillery, and aircraft

Oh i never knew that -.- I had like musketeers by like 2031 lol

I liked how SoaSE had long ass matches haha

4 person matches could take like....16 hours


especially if you quickly attack 1 or each of their planets just enough to show you have power, then set up treaties with everyone and then you just sit back while they kill eachother.

I turtled and most of my enemies were preoccupied with each other, only a few had attack me, and even then it was a small force which I repelled easily. I was pretty isolated on the map so ya that's another factor.

Wow this is BS! Im the Japanese and I just owned Gandhi, and I found the Chinese and they have.... like 9 cities when I only have 5 Is there a chance for me to catch up and beat them?

I have Civilization 4. I love the tech system but wish they split away a little more. If you do it right. You can be in the modern age in 1400 but not discovered animal husbandry.

I had 4, however it doesn't seem to work on windows over 9000...
