that doesn't explain elites/ marines walking through flood infested buildings unharmed and uninfected

I go by what the books say... and the books say that the infection is not really an infection, but a parasite. the reason it is called an infection is because the way that it works is very similar to the way an infection spreads through a body.

an infection spreads by latching onto a host cell, altering the cells DNA so that other infective cells grow inside of it, and then rupturing the host cell so that the new infection cells can spread through to other cells.

the flood spreads by, Latching onto sentient being, overriding its brain and DNA, eventually converts it so that new infection forms grow inside, ruptures the carrier form so the infection forms can find new hosts.

you forget that a whole flood ship crashed on earth... and it was just fine.

In the games you and marines dont get infected for gameplay purposes, but it is a parasite. With enough inhaled flood spores the flood supercell enters the body, then it begins reproducing aesexually and assimilates the body.

flood wouldn't last that long... depending on their homeworld many IG regiments equip their troops with breathers, and sometimes heavier armor.

and trust me... the flood are not going to win unless they cause hundreds, thousands of planets to be exterminated each day.

NTM what krazy said... they just blow up entire planets without caring if they still have troops on it.

The entire area was glassed moments prior to infestation, no spore's could've escaped as the atmostphere in that area was also completely demolished.

you mean more than 20 minutes later... and the ship flew in leaking from low earth orbit

at that height the wind speed would have carried the particles hundreds of miles away by the time the glassing even started... NVM the explosion from the impact would have sent particles into high earth orbit... which would have scattered the particles around the planet within hours

in the high atmosphere things spread extremely fast... every foot at that height corresponds to moving thousands of feet on the planet itself (due to the planet rotating)

thats why missiles are shout high in to teh atmosphere... because they don't have to travel as far at that height to reach all the way around the planet

The ship exited slipspace over africa, and for a maybe a hundred miles headed towards voi. The Seperatists glassed HALF of africa, the half voi was on, nothing escaped.

Obviously you haven't read the comics, of which are canon. Kusovai (an elite) was infected after inhaling a large amount of flood spores, he was infected and horribly mutated.

I don't know much of Warhammer story, so i'm just going to quit arguing, but it would also seem that some people should refine their Halo knowledge before arguing Halo.

I don't consider anything made surrounding Halo wars to be canon... and the comic (I assume your talking about the one by dark horse made after halo 2) has so many flaws that people consider it as much uncanon as Halo Wars.

Halo Wars is still canon, unfortuently...

You first detonated the city with the ships own engines, then the continent was glassed. Flood spores, if enough are enhaled, will infect you. Do you want to know why? Because a flood spore is just floating flood biomass, and you know what a infection form does when it infects you?

It firsts assimilates your nervous system to make it so you can't fight back, after that the flood injects you with flood super cell for immediate mutation, then burrows inside you to control your body.
