Re: Zombie War - Discussion
All the universities and colleges around here are way too open to be even close to defensible.
Re: Zombie War - Discussion
Character sheets are updated. I'll tell you what the rest does in a bit.

(OOC) this reminds me of Pandemic 2 LOL (OOC)
i have a program to educatedly gess where the so called virus will go next...
i see it will spead in brazil and south america, parts of central america will be affected, mexico will close its borders, we will probably reinforce our southern border, cannada will start to be affected but they will quarenteen off the affected areas, we will close all our borders but still trade to less affected contries...
according to this program, the US, Iceland, ireland, United Kingdom, parts or indonisia, new zeland, Austraila, Madagasscar, Puerto rico, Hawai, Alaska, the Florida Keys, cuba, the bahamas, jamaca, dominican Republic, and all the rest of the little ass islands in that regin will be the least affected...
ofcorse, the program im useing is a year old...and i only ran it onece...

A friend showed me pandemic 2 the day I started writing the rules. Damn you Madagascar!!
I dispute your program though, I think the Islands will be the first to go once it hits the fan. Refugees will flood there - and Barbados has already had a major outbreak at this point Kept on the hush hush of course.

Well it was either that or have pretty much all of you in the soldier class :/
Librarian is way more useful than it sounds. It's actually one of the better ones to start with.

Re: Zombie War - Discussion
My high school would be perfect... except its in michigan.
Its got thick brick walls supported by some heavy steel beams all over the place. Also alot of open terrain around it.
I would personally head north from where I am right now into Northern MI, where there is a very low population density. Couple this with lots of natural choke points, natural resources, Islands, etc. and it seems to be a good place to be.

Re: Zombie War - Discussion
You have it too!
And Thane, I think this game may already be one or two people two big. If it goes well though I could teach someone else to do my bit and they could run another.

Because pretty much all you guys are some kind of firearms expert, I had to balance the game out so you can make a good team.

Re: Zombie War - Discussion
As a 42-year-old game designer who happened to be visiting <insertcityinnewjersey> for <insertvariousreasons>, and since the character creation couldn't be completely based on me, I guess that rules out my knowledge of flying rotorblade aircraft...there goes that plan. So...where exactly in the city am I? Are we going to have some kind of crude map? How, exactly, are we determining starting supplies?
Re: Zombie War - Discussion
Well the map you'll be using is googlemaps at the part where I say 'You live Here' (Nottingham New jersey). As for where you live, just google hotels in the area and you can be staying at one of those. As for starting supplies, I figure you stocked up on about two weeks of canned good each, there will be more at the school.
I'll tell you more about water and electricity when you get there. You'll have stockpiled some gas but not hundreds of dollars worth. The actual base will be a crude map drawn by myself based on google maps of the area and any info I can dig up from their website.
Also I figure several of you will have guns and ammo, which apart from Tim will be in short supply. The police military folks having handguns and Tim having a small number of hunting rifles (anything more from your bountiful stash would make the game too easy and thus boring).
Anything else you can think of, mention here. Again, try not to make the game too easy for yourself or it'll be boring. I'm talking about any petrol generators you may happen to have lying about and such.
I'll draw the map in a bit and set up the mission section. Obviously your first mission will be quick fortification. From there on in it'll be more open acquisition of supplies and anything else you care to do.
