I'm going to post all five parts of AvC (again, since somebody deleted the Halo Section a while back) in this thread.

Do not post until all five parts are posted.

Alien V.S. Covenant Empty Alien V.S. Covenant Part 1: THE ENCOUNTER

Post by PiEdude Tue Aug 11, 2009 9:40 pm

“Vessel sighted Shipmaster.” said the navigator of the Covenant destroyer Punisher. “Is it human?” Shipmaster Morvak asked. “It doesn’t match any human designs in the database, or any I’ve ever seen.”
“Check again”
“Yes Shipmaster.” This troubled Morvak. The ship obviously wasn’t of Covenant or Forerunner origin, and wasn’t of any apparent human origin either. “Scan it for life signs”
“Reading something, but nothing familiar.” said the sensor operator.
“A system flaw?”
“I am reading no anomalies Shipmaster.” more troubling thoughts filled the Shipmasters mind. “Send several squads of Uggnoy and Kig-yar to investigate.”
“Sending them now Shipmaster.”
The Uggnoy scurried past the Kig-yar to the boarding craft. Several Kig-yar shook their heads in disapproval of the Uggnoy’s over-eagerness of such a trivial investigation mission. As the craft neared the end of the short journey to the unidentified-ship, they checked their plasma pistols and needlers and prepared to enter. Once inside, they fanned out to explore. Room by room they scanned the first section of the ship without finding anything. Then they entered a new section.
“Nothing yet” said a squad leader over the COM system,” but we’ll keep looking.” Morvak was somewhat relieved to hear this but still a little worried. One of his senior officers noticed this. “Something wrong Shipmaster?” he asked. “Yes” Morvak replied. “Yes there is”
“What is it?”
“Don’t you find it somewhat odd that there would be a ship with no apparent known origins just floating out in the middle of known space?”
“Yes, that is what most of the bridge has been thinking”
“And the life signatures don’t help shake the feeling either”
“Do you think it could be th-”
“THIS IS SEARCH PARTY ALPHA SENDING A DISTRESS SIGNAL. WE ARE UNDER ATTACK BY AN UNKNOWN ENEMY! THEY APPEAR TO BE VERY AGGRE-” Right then the signal went dead, and the bridge fell silent.
They ran past the door as fast as they could. Then they sealed it and the Kig-yar squad leader said” how many losses?”
“30” one of them replied” that includes all the Uggnoy and 4 of us.”
“Try another distress signal.”
“We can’t sir”
“Why not?”
“Those things killed our COM operator, all our communications are cut off”
“Alright, here’s what were-”
“THERE BURNING THROUGH THE DOOR!” Yelled a Kig-yar with a needler. All the remaining Kig-yar readied their weapons as the creatures burned their way through the door. As they emerged the Kig-yar fired. The creatures partially burned face was the last thing they’d ever see.
“I want at least fourteen more boarding craft, packed with Sangheli and Lekgolo.” announced Morvak.
“Right away Shipmaster”

Four Lekgolo pairs boarded the boarding craft. Each craft had at least four pairs of Lekgolo and sixty Sangheli. As the craft prepared to depart, a message played over the COM system. “Brothers, you are about to embark on the most important mission of your lives. You will infiltrate this strange and unknown craft for two purposes: one, to find the source of these strange beasts, and two, avenge our fallen comrades by eradicating these unholy abominations!” There was tension all over the craft. No one knew what they were about to face, but they all knew that whatever these creatures were, they wiped out an entire search brigade of Kig-yar and Uggnoy. As they entered the ship the first team immediately headed towards the last known location of the original search party. When they arrived they observed the corpses of all the Kig-yar. They noticed that they seemed to be moving. As they watched this one of them opened and out came a small creature covered in a strange ooze. “could this little thing have wiped out a whole brigade?” said one of the Lekgolo. “No” replied a Sangheli” but that could” the whole squad looked at the large armored creature standing just a few meters away. It was hunched over with a tail. It had an elongated head, similar to the creature that the Sangheili held in it’s hand. The larger one jumped at the nearest one of them and the whole squad opened fire. In seconds the beast was reduced to a smoldering pile of flesh on the ground. Then its blood touched the floor of the ships metal deck and started to melt through.
“Report” announced Morvak. A Sangheili voice crackled over the COM. “No casualties yet sir, but we’ve found and killed six of these creature so far. I’ll send you a holo image of them now.” an image appeared of the creature the first squad saw. “That will be all soldier” said Morvak.

The Sangheili scanned through the room before giving the “all-clear” sign to the Lekgolo behind them. They entered, and left the door open behind them. “What is that?” asked a Sangheili. “They were Uggnoy” replied Sangheili Major Domo Vostic. The squad panned the room looking at all the disfigured Uggnoy carcasses all over the room, their blue blood and gore splattered across the floor. “They’re all hollow” murmured a Lekgolo. “Where are the-” just then clear, thick saliva dripped from the ceiling onto a Sangheili’s shoulder. They all looked up and stared in aw at the creature clinging to the ceiling. “Beasts.” he finished quietly. Just before it attacked, a Sangheili opened fire with a needler. Emptying the weapon into the creature. The shards impacted, then exploded in the creature natural armor, splattering acidic blood across the Sangheili below it. The blood evaporated harmlessly on his over shield.
“We’ll call them ‘Hell Hounds’” proclaimed Shipmaster Morvak. “Excuse me Shipmaster?” said one of the officers on the bridge. “These things were fighting. We’ll call them Hell Hounds.” “Ah yes, of course Shipmaster” “COM officer! I want that broadcasted over the main frequencies immediately, all squads must hear this information.” “Broadcasting now” “Excellent”
As they finished listening to the broadcast Vostic ordered them to immediately burn all the Uggnoy corpses. They did, and then they entered another room, this one though, was a hallway, that stretched down about 10 meters. “You”, ordered Vostic ”scout out that hallway.” “Yes sir” replied the Sangheili. He got about halfway down and stopped. “Sir, I think there’s something wrong with my sen-” just then a Hell Hound, swooped down and pulled up the Sangheili by the head, and another came from the left. The two got him into a corner, and were joined by a third, and a fourth, and a fifth, and soon a dozen Hell Hounds were attacking him and clawing and biting, all the while drastically weakening his energy shield. The squad moved in to help but was cut of by several more of them. They killed several, but more came. Vostic grabbed two energy swords from the ground and started cutting through the Hell Hounds. He decapitated one, the cut another in half, fought through the dozen attacking his Sangheili scout, and helped him up. He turned to see that the ones attacking his squad were all dead. And two of his men were wounded and another dead. “Get them back to the ship!”
“Shipmaster, incoming injured on boarding craft.” said one of the officers onboard. “Let them in” announced Morvak.
The craft landed in the dock and the wounded were rushed to the infirmary. “How bad are his wounds?” asked one of the medical supervisors to one of the machines. “His injuries include: claw marks, tissue damage, acidic wounds, and some kind of biological entity.” Biological entity? Thought the supervisor what could that mean?
“Something on radar sir” “Where?” yelled Vostic. “I don’t know sir it vanished” “That’s impossible how could it vanish?” just then a Hell Hound jumped from behind a column at a Lekgolo. The Lekgolo simply held up its shield and when the beast jumped on it the Lekgolo put its shield directly into the wall next to it, crushing the Hell Hound instantly.
It was silent in the med bay. The only sound was the low hum of the medical equipment. “What is happening!?!” said a panicked med bot looking at the holo image in front of it. The biological entities signature kept spiking up until… SPLAT! The whole room was pock marked with dots of blue blood, emerging from the chest of the Sangheili was a miniature Hell Hound. How many dead in the other squads?” asked Vostic. “Twelve” replied their COM operator. They had been sitting there waiting four the last hour and a half. Waiting for an engineer to finish unlocking a heavily reinforced security door. “Done” announced the engineer. The whole squad looked up. “In thirty seconds” he finished. They all got back down. “Everyone get ready!” yelled Vostic. “Whoever locked this door went through a lot of trouble to do it. So whatever’s on the other side of this door is probably very strong.” The squad readied up. The door opened, and they all went through.
“Ship inbound Shipmaster” said the sensor operator.
“What type of ship?” asked Morvak.
“It’s one of ours.” The Covenant frigate Constrictor appeared on the view screen, SHIPCOM crackled on: “To the covenant destroyer Punisher, we have been sent here by the glorious Prophets to reinforce your battle against these demonic Hell Hounds.” Morvak snarled at the Jiralhanae image onscreen. Why would the Prophets send Jiralhanae to assist them with this holy task? “Jiralhanae Shipmaster, come aboard.”
The crew heard a loud thud as the boarding craft made contact with the vessel. The pack chieftain Cartucus, stepped out, he was in full chieftain ceremonial dress: Headdress, standard Jiralhanae armor, and a Brute Shot. The rest of his Jiralhanae filed out all carrying red plasma rifles. They soon reached the other squad.
The medical supervisor walked into the infirmary and immediately saw the horrible sight. The whole infirmary was a disaster! Trays were knocked over, medical tanks were destroyed, and several med bots lay broken across the floor. One of them crawled over to him its flat mechanical voice spoke. “Unkno-o-own biological en-n-nity called Hel-ll-l Hounds sighted in-nn-n infirmary. Contact with secu-rr-ity failed. System-mm-m failure shutting doowwwwnnnnnn.” The supervisor looked to the med bays. Each one of the dead or injured Sangheili had a gaping hole in their chests, and their rooms plasma windows were splattered with their glistening blue blood. He knew he had to warn security. He turned to leave only to find himself face to face with one of the creatures the Shipmaster called “Hell Hounds”. He tried to scream, but before he could, the creature opened its mouth and a small second mouth appeared were its tongue should have been. It bite his four-jawed maw, and the supervisor could feel his body turning cold. He suddenly felt limp, and tired. He wanted nothing more than to sleep.
“So Morvak, I see the prophets have been keeping you busy investigating useless, demon stricken vessels.” said the Jiralhanae shipmaster as he entered the Punisher’s bridge. “Actually” replied Morvak. “We found it by accident on an important recon mission.” Morvak stared down the Jiralhanae Shipmaster. They both had a look of pure hatred in their eyes. If it weren’t for the holy Prophets they would be ripping each other apart right now.
Vostic watched in disgust as the Jiralhanae pack approached his squad. “Vostic, I see the Prophets have you going on suicide missions.”
“Cartucus, how’s that scar healing?” Vostic saw the look on his face go from taunting joy, to unadulterated hate. When they were young, Vostic and Cartucus once got in a fight with each other involving a toy they both wanted. Both of them had sharp pieces of metal and Vostic had given Cartucus a deep scar along the rim of his eye. “It’s healing better than you’ll be!” just then he lunged at Vostic and Vostic started at him, but their men got a hold of each of them before they could kill each other.
Listor entered the infirmary followed by his security team. When they got in they were shocked at what they saw: four bodies , each with gaping holes in their chests, medical equipment scattered and broken across the floor and med bots lying on the ground destroyed. They slowly swept through the room, carbines and plasma rifles in hand, looking for what did this. They found nothing until one of them looked up to see a Hell Hound hanging from the ceiling, staring at him. He tried to scream, but the words wouldn’t come. Another Sangheili noticed it and fired its carbine. The beast simply took the shots and turned on the one with the carbine. It jumped at him and was met with a barrage of plasma. It fell mid-flight, and landed on the ground, dead. They searched the room again, much more thoroughly, and found nothing.
“Thank you Listor, I’ll inform him at once.” said the COM operator on the bridge. “Shipmaster, it appears that the security team sent to investigate the infirmary, has found and killed a Hell Hound. They say four bodies that were used as carriers were found.” When Morvak heard this his face turned grey with worry. The other Shipmaster could not see his face through his armor, but could still see his emotion. “Something wrong Morvak?” he asked tauntingly. “You seem a bit worried.” A large grin went across the old Jiralhanae’s face as he basked in the Sangheili’s deep worry. “Yes, yes there is actually.” replied Morvak. The other Shipmaster looked with a smile on his ape-like face. “I was just thinking” He continued. “ That, well, if that thig makes it to the shuttle craft, it’ll get to your ship, and your men.” The other Shipmaster’s smile disappeared.
“What is that?” said a Sangheili with a plasma rifle.
“I don’t know” replied Vostic. “But we have to kill it.” The creature looked like all of the other Hell Hounds, but this one was bigger. Much bigger. It had a hook shaped head and a sharp edged tail. It was also moe skeletal than the other Hell Hounds. “We’ll call it the Queen.”

ALIEN V.S. COVENANT PART 4:
THE QUEEN

The Banshee flew above the ship. Normally a Seraph fighter would be used for work like this but it was too fast and didn’t have the right scanning equipment. The pilot felt uncomfortable in the bulky vacuum suit. The Banshee wasn’t designed for work like this, in space. He checked his thermal sensors again, and saw nothing on his scanners. "Banshee 2 reporting in, nothing on sensors."
"Banshee 1 also reporting nothing"
"Banshee 3 also repor- wait a minute, I’m picking up something on visual but… not on thermal." The pilot of B2 listened with interest.
"B3 explain," said the squad leader with surprise in his voice.
"I can see it very clearly but it’s not showing up on my thermals"
"Switch to ultra violet." They all switched to ultra violet imaging and saw not one, not two, but a dozen Hell Hounds crawling across the surface of the hull. "Report this to the Punisher immediately, they’ll want to see this."
"Shipmaster, new messages coming in on COM, apparently these things do not show up on thermal imagery. The same crew that discovered this said that they do however, show up on ultra violet images"
"Thank you COM officer, alert the search crews to this immediately."
The Ghost cruised along the surface of the vessel. Sa’nyale lazily watched his thermal screens, saw nothing, and continued along the surface of the vessel. He, along with the rest of his squad, were in a formation similar to a human "x". The four Ghosts were on all four corners around a Wraith, which was in the middle of the formation. They all had their sensors on full, scanning everything within 30 units of their formation. The COM crackled on, "Attention all search parties, switch all scanners from thermal to UV, these things don’t show up on thermal." Sa’nyale immediately switched his scanners and saw something that made him sit up startled: there were at least a dozen Hell Hounds 20 units behind them. " Ghost squad 3, are u seeing this to?" he asked over the COM.
"Yes we are, Ghosts three and four, turn around and continue in reverse and see if you have a visual" Both of them turned around almost simultaneously and the COM crackled back on. "Yes, we definitely have visual." Shortly after that they fired their front cannons and killed two of the beasts. But the rest didn’t even slow down.
Vostic edged along the narrow support beam towards the other ledge. When he told Cartucus and his Jiralhanae, along with the Lekgolo, that they were too large to cross the bean, he gave Vostic a gruesomely terrifying look of disgust and went to find an alternative route. Vostic stared down at the creature below that he had dubbed "The Queen". It didn’t seem to notice their presence, it seemed more preoccupied with its current task: laying thousands of eggs one at a time.

Security team 14 swept through the hallway of the Punisher. "Nothing in corridor 234," said the squad leader, " but we’ll keep you posted" Just then, twenty Hell Hounds streaked in through the air ducts towards the team. They fired but there weren’t enough of them and they were quickly swarmed and killed one by one.
"Excellency, I’m picking up hundreds of Hell Hounds on the surface of the vessel." "Announced the sensor monitor.
"Can our squads handle it?" asked Morvak.
"Yes, but only for a short time, they just don’t have the fire power"
"Then send in the Scarab."
The grav-lift of the Punisher opened and slowly lowered down a light mining Scarab. It’s legs hit the vessel with a loud thump, that was not heard in the vacuum of space, but rather felt by those on the hull. It quickly came to life and began tracking targets for its main gum.

The Hell Hound moved effortlessly along the hull of the formerly human ship. He, along with his hundreds of other brethren got ready and leaped off the vessel and into the zero gravity vacuum of space towards the alien ship. The Covenant didn’t know it, but they were in for far more than they originally anticipated.

Alien V.S. Covenant Empty Re: Alien V.S. Covenant

“Plasma Conduits at 150% Shipmaster”
“Good.” Said Morvak. “COM officer. Send a message to all squads. Tell them what we’re doing, and to try and escape if they can, and if not, that they will have died saving the Covenant.”
“Right away Shipmaster.”
Cartucus’ pack moved even faster now, getting ever closer to their destination. They drew closer to a door, where they could hear sounds of fighting. Cartucus ordered his pack to stop, and he moved to open it.
On the other side, was Vostic and several other Sangheili listening to their COM systems.
“What’s the news?” Asked Cartucus as his Pack moved in.
“They’re going to destroy the ships. All three of them, to ensure that the Hell hounds are destroyed.”
Cartucus’ face was blank for a moment. Then he said back,: “Then we should probably try to escape.” He knew what he would hear.
“I think we both know what we should do.”
Cartucus nodded. “What would you have me and my squad do?”
“We need you to help us push that statue onto that creature.” Vostic pointed to a “W” shaped statue made of a strange metal.
“After that, we will try to escape, but I doubt we’ll make it in time.”
“Then let’s get started.” Cartucus announced, and his pack and Vostic‘s squad moved to the statue..
“Shipmaster, we have a course set for the Unyielding Hierophant.” announced the SlipSpace technician on the Constrictor’s bridge.
“Will we be able to leave before the Punisher explodes?”
“Yes Shipmaster.”
It wouldn’t be long now.
Vostic pushed as hard as he could. Even with the help of the Jiralhanae, this was hard work. They had fired their plasma rifles at the vase of the statue to weaken it, but they could only weaken it so much or the statue would simply fall on top of them.
Vostic heard a the base whine, and it tipped violently.
It wouldn’t be long now.

“Shipmaster, Plasma Conduits at 160%.”
“Excellent.” Replied Morvak.
It wouldn’t be long now.
Cartucus heard the base crack, and the statue tip more.
It wouldn’t be long now.
Vostic felt the weight of the statue suddenly vanish as it finished its final tip. It fell off the catwalk, and tumbled directly into the Queen’s crest, and straight through the Lekgolo on top of it.
“That thing will never lay it’s demonic eggs again.” said Cartucus.”
“Yes, now let’s get out of here. There are plenty of drop ships and Seraphs in the hangar.”
“Sir, there is something approaching the bridge.”
“What?” Morvak asked as he bolted up from his seat.
“There are at least a dozen of them. One is slightly larger than the others.”
“Close the blast doors, and put up an energy shield.”
“Yes Shipmast-” He was suddenly cut off by a banging on the door. It bent inward slightly.
“Do it now!” The crew could still feel the bridge vibrating several seconds after the door was hit. The blast doors went down, but Morvak knew that they wouldn’t hold long.
“Shipmaster, there is a problem.” Announced the SlipSpace technician.
“What is it?”
“The SlipSpace drive is losing power, we’ll have to divert something to make it run.”
“Divert all power from the shields.”
“Right away Shipmaster.”
“The hangar is very close.” Announced a Sangheili.
“Okay, everyone run as fast as you can!”
The speed of the group picked up. They all ran as though they were being chased by a Ghost firing its guns.
“Just through this door!”
They opened it, only to find that the next hallway was crawling with HellHounds.

Alien V.S. Covenant Empty Re: Alien V.S. Covenant

Post by PiEdude Tue Aug 11, 2009 9:48 pm

The group stopped for a moment. The HellHounds didn’t seem to detect their presence. Then, Vostic activated his sword, and said: “For the glory of the Covenant, CHARGE!”
He ran straight into the crowd, killing whatever he could reach.
He was soon followed by his squad, and Cartucus’ pack.
“Plasma Conduits at 170% Shipmaster.”
The door continued to bend as another blow rang through the bridge. The HellHounds outside would no doubt soon break through and kill all inside.
And all the crew and Morvak could do was wait.
“Shipmaster, even with the shield power in the SlipSpace drive, it will take several minutes to go.”
“Then we’ll wait longer! What ever it takes to get out of here alive!”
Vostic cut through another HellHound, then stabbed one, and decapitated a third. The acidic blood continued to spray his shields, and they went down more each time. Several members of both his squad and Cartucus’ pack were killed, but the two of them kept fighting.
“175% done Shipmaster.”
Another bang shook the bridge. The door couldn’t take much more punishment.
All of the HellHounds were dead. Only Vostic, Cartucus, three Jiralhanae, and two Sangheili remained. The two Sangheili took off to a Spirit drop ship, two of the Jiralhanae took a Phantom, and one took a Seraph.
The Seraph left, and the two drop ships waited for their respective squad leaders. Vostic was about to leave, when Cartucus stopped him by putting the dull side of the blade of his damaged Brute Shot to his chest.
Vostic looked at him and knew what to do.
He drew his sword, and the two began to circle each other.
“180% Shipmaster!”
Almost there, thought Morvak.
thought Morvak.
The door took another blow, and it began to crack. Morvak drew his side arm, and waited.
“The SlipSpace drive is almost ready Shipmaster, looks like we’re going to just make it out as the Punisher Explodes.”
Vostic dodged again, then ducked as Cartucus swung his blade. He ducked under it, the went for a stabbing blow but was cut off by Cartucus’ arm. He dodged another strike, just barely this time.
He went for another stab, but missed hi mark, and only wounded Cartucus. As he was bout to finish him, the apish *** drew his plasma pistol, and fired an over charged shot into Vostic’s leg. His shields took most of it, but the rest burned through his armor and into the muscle.
Vostic let out a scream, and Cartucus took off. His drop ship left the hangar, and so did Vostic’s.
As Vostic sat there, waiting to die, his ship came back in, and the door opened right next to him, and his two remaining squad mates carried him in.
“185% Shipmaster!”
Just as the Engineering Officer said it, the final blow ripped through the door, and the HellHounds came flooding in. The crew fired their weapons, but it was ineffective.
One HellHound in particular struck Morvak as odd. It was slightly larger, more muscular, and had the same strange jaw as the Jiralhanae.
It ripped through his crew with amazing efficiency, completely un-phased by the plasma fire, or needles.
Morvak watched the Plasma Conduit power level, reach 189%, and prepared to press the button. The HellHound noticed him, and now was heading his way. As is drew closer, Morvak ignited a plasma grenade behind his back.
When the creature was just a few units away from him, it leaped into the air, and in what seemed like slow motion the Plasma Conduit’s power reached 190%, and Morvak placed the grenade on his chest.
When the HellHound was just about to land, Morvak fell backwards onto the button, and the grenade exploded just as the beast impacted him.
“Shipmaster! The Punisher’s Plasma Conduits have reached 200% and are going critical!”
“What!”
The core of the Punisher was taking in too much heat.
The overly charged Plasma Conduits sent too much power into it, and the structure could take no more.
It gave into the overwhelming pressure, and imploded just before it’ energy surged outwards.
“Sir, look at that!” Said one of Vostic’ squad mates.
Vostic got up, and moved towards the view port of the drop ship.
The Punisher was being warped by the heat of its core, and soon the energy burst out in an incredible display of light and heat.
Vostic watched in both amazement and horror as the explosion wiped out both the oddly unshielded Constrictor and the strange craft.
He had no idea yet, but he was going to go into a cry tube, and awake on a strange planet, not too far away.
Cartucus saw the explosion at the same time. He also had no idea, but he would go into cryosleep, and awaken at High Charity, where he would be given a new history, and a new name: Tartarus.
On the Seraph, sat the traitorous Jiralhanae that abandoned his pack.
He was on a similar course as Vostic, and would also go into cryosleep.
He also didn’t know, that in his chest, was a seed.
This seed would grow, and grow, until it became: a HellHound.

The End
Of the beginning
