Idiot, C&C didn't invent the RTS, Dune 2 did (or to go further back, a game called Herzog Zwei was the first RTS made).

I'm probably going to have to say that Half Life 1 and 2 are in my top 10, same with both Supreme Commander (scale of the battles is epic), Company of Heroes, Starcraft, Peggle (for sheer amount of time spent playing it), Homeworld, Empire Earth, Battlefield 1942, and Farcry. (these aren't in order of 1-10, and there would be too many ties for me to order it that way)

I would compile a top-ten list, but I'm afraid that much of the list would be made up of pretty recent games.

A game I would like to mention: Serious Sam 2. That game was hilarious. Never got to play the first one and my disk is scratched

DOOM was played by an estimated 10 million people within two years of its release, created the gamer sub-culture and was voted the greatest game of all time in 2004 by industry insiders. It also defined the FPS genre and its weapons have beomce prototypical. Besides, Gameplay in DOOM is WAY better than in Marathon. Came out 1993

Thats just the original DOOM, not counting the expansion or DOOMII(basically same game plus new monsters and weapons). Plus they released its sourcecode and there are a few big mod communities and mods(I like the Ghostbusters mod)

Also I believe DOOM (more like Doom 3) was the first game to introduce the Real Time Lighting technology.

They were the start of real video games, there had been games before them (Obviously) but none were actually worth buying. With the introduction of the GldSrc Engine and the quake engine it made multiplayer FPS so great.

And for campaign storylines I would say Half life again.
Plus it spawned TF and TFC.

The gravemind could've been anywhere else, he still would've died. They activated the ring, destroying all sentiet life on and near the ark. It also blew up the ark, but everyone made it into the portal safely.

Oh yes everything is fine, never mind the fact that Master Chief is floating towards yet ANOTHER forerunner shield world in the back half of a UNSC frigate but besides that EVERYTHING is just fine...

Its only a matter of time before Bungie's urges to milk yet ANOTHER Halo game takes over and then we'll have "Halo 4: lol He Ain't Dead Folks".

They ended the trilogy, although they could make another game involving the master chief. That or a movie, and I thought the ending was fine..

If they do make another game, I won't complain unless it is bad.

If they continue it, it would just be a remake.

Halo is a Prelude to Marathon in a sense with how it ended, they wanted it to be like that so we could be like "oooooh"
