Prototype Or InFamous?

Now here's two games that have me intrigued.

I've been following Prototype since 2007 when I read a preview about it. You play as Alex Mercer an amenesiac with strange powers in New York city. The city is a strange virus infecting civilans and the Military have quarantined the area. It becomes a three way battle, between the infected mutants, the Military and you.

It's made by the same people behind Scarface and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, so they have a knack for this.

As for Infamous, you wake up on ground zero of a large electrical expolsion and discover you have electrical powers. You then fight a myriad of gangs in the city choosing between good or evil actions.

It's made by the same people who made the Sly Raccoon games.

Both look very good and reviwers are praising both.

I leave it up to you.

I havent heard of Infamous... but Prototype has me wondering whether to dip into the games budget I swore I wouldn't touch until July.

Same here. I'm going to get Prototype for sure.

The only reason I probably won't get InFamous is it's a PS3 Exclusive

I've heard of Infamous, didn't really seem to interest me much.

It actually doesn't look that bad. It kinda reminds me of Crackdown, just if you were Electro in that game.

Prototype looks great. Most certainly going to get it.

I think I was sold when I saw him grab a guy, yell 'To hell with you!' and throw him at a helicopter, causing it to explode.

The trailer looks infinitely cooler than the gameplay I saw tbh.

Im going to rent prototype, it looks sexy as heck.

There was a review on INfamous that makes me think twice before even renting it.

I loved the trailer for prototype.

I like Prototype more, mainly because I've been following it for a very long time and it's looking really good.

Well, Prototype is a government conspiracy game, and InFamous is a PS3 exclusive, so since they're both anti-U.S. extremists who want the whole country to burn, I won't be getting either.

Is that the one where the military shoot that girl in the head after the mutant attack? That one was epic

I played the infamous demo, and i liked it.

i'll have to play prototype before i can say which will be better.


but with infamous, it isn't just you were at ground zero, you CAUSED the explosion. which is why in the demo the one chick says "you owe me, you owe all of us, for what you did" and he says about himself as "they were surprised to see the terrorist...."

Prototype. It's no contest.

i think its gonna boil down to them being amazingly similiar

with infamous being for the more casual (who don't own PS3s anyway) and prototype for the more 'hardcore'


but anyhow. most people here, being total 360 fanboys, choosing prototype because anything PS3 exclusive HAS to be fail.

I may only have a 360, but I'm keeping an open mind about it.

I have to argue with that. The resistance games and the Killzone games are epic win.

I loved Killzone 2

I actually liked Killzone 2. Not so much Resistance though.

inFAMOUS looks good, and has somewhat mixed reviews, but the major turn off for me is, you either have to be good, or you have to be evil. There is no middle ground.

Personally, I like being the good guy, but once in awhile, I like to do some bad things, like blow up cars, buildings, and just go on a killing spree every once in awhile.

Ya I mean we got to take our anger on them once in a while :twisted:
