PC or Console?

I'm back to where I was a month ago - which is here:

PC is better by ungodly leaps and bounds; but it occasionally doesn't work for some reason.

Examples within the last month all bought from steam:

Fallout 3 - works fine, then crashes every twentieth container I look in or door I open.

Empire: Bit slow, worked fine. Turn 96 - crashes whenever declare war on the Huron Confederacy. Does not run on the superior machine in my house.

STALKER SoC: Works fine, crashes every other time I leave the Cordon.

Half Life 2: Worked fine once, crashes in the sewer levels now.

Id go on... but I think I've already gone on too much. It's not my PC either. All three are way above specs. If one works I just go on to the other usually. But it's still a right pain after a 12 hour download.

Yet with that said, apart from Brawl. I just don't enjoy gaming on consoles any more. It just seems very detached and lazy somehow. Not as engaging. Maybe only because Ive played it so much.

why are people grouping FPS into one catagory?

personally i find that certain FPS are better for one over the other.

CoD4, for instance, has clunky controls and is overall too slow for console.

Halo 3 and Killzone 2, though, are perfect console FPS

Actually you're right there (although I'd personally prefer CoD on the xbox). I could not get into Halo PC. The design is console through and through. Whereas CS completely tanked on xbox.

Ahh, I gotta trick one of my PS3 owning friends to buy Killzone 2... I really wanna play it...

NT, you're right that some first person shooter are designed specifically with console in mind and, like halo, work better with a controler. However, that does not mean that the genre as a whole isn't more suited for the PC gaming experience.

@ Cheese, man, you must be doing SOMETHING wrong. The only game I've ever really had trouble with is GTA IV, which was a shitty console port with barely any video driver support. I'll admit that Empire is troublesome, but that too was an unfinished game that was released broken. Having trouble with Half Life 2 though, or any Source game for that matter, is just weird man.

Part of the engine fell off somewhere alone the line. It's not having anything to do with zombies anymore. Tbf it is only on the one PC. So who knows.

I downloaded it a few more times, but it just keeps happening.

Yeah there are. The people bitten by headcrabs are called zombie on both the GMod list and the Half Life 2 directories. They are both named and technically zombies - depending on your definition.

I really can't think of a more fitting name. Again I can't even see why they're not zombies (again, depending on your definition).
