So, I got a new Video card, and I wanted to test it out on a next gen PC game. I have been wanting to replay GTA IV, and so I bought it on steam. The download took around 2 entire days, and when it finally finished, I went to play it.

first, it FORCED me to sign up for their dumb ass social club. I did this and proceeded to push the "play" button on the social club menu. It told that before I could play GTA, the game that i BOUGH on STEAM (a system that has its own, non intrusive, DRM) I had to REGISTER IT THROUGH SOCIAL CLUB.

I clicked the register button and a load screen popped up. It was about half way done when I accidentally excited the screen...

Now, the game doesn't even start. It crashes everytime I push play, and never prompts me with the option of re-trying the register. Fuck you Rockstar, Fuck you securom, and Fuck you valve for letting developers use third party DRM on their games. Grow some balls Gabe Newell!

Maybe you should talk to them about the problem? I'm sure Steam has customer support.

In a perfect world...

Steam has no phone support. I've been calling Rockstar support, and they keep telling me their systems are down until Monday. I called them just a few minutes ago, and now they're saying Tuesday.

Hold that thought. I'm giving the thing one last chance. I'm re-installing for the fourth time, and it's going pretty fast (only been 5-6 hours and it's at 46%.)

I have faith it'll work this time. I just gotta be patient...
