Does it even have a reason to be celebrated?
I mean, the pilgrims weren't the first ones here obviously, and it's not like anyone really gives thanks for anything durring thanksgiving...

The reason we celebrate thanksgiving is because in the past the pilgrims nearly starved to death during the winter, but they were able to survive it and were helped by the Indians.

So perty much thats the idea

And christopher colombus was a horrible drunkard and all the indians got essentially raped by the pilgrim machine.

And then we went and slaughtered all the Indians the next day because they wouldn't give us more food. They don't teach you that part in kindergarten.

well it seems like its not celebrated any more

My whole family is stopping by for thanksgiving dinner.

Please explain why "We weren't here first" is a reason not to celebrate and give thanks.
Honestly, Thanksgiving is still pretty big in my family. We got the pies baking right now, turkey is roasting, and we're going down to meet the family tomorrow.

Honestly, the reason I like Thanksgiving is because it's so under-commercialized. The only people who make a profit from it are those guys who sell turkeys and stuffing. So hats off to the REAL American holiday.

Yeah, that's the part of American history that embarrasses me.

Well, they died off over a 20 year period. At least we didnt go in and kill them all and take the rest of them for slaves. *looks at Spain.* Thanksgiving is very big in my family. So yeah, I think it's still a holiday.

No, and that made for an awkward moment when I asked, "Ms. Palmer, why don't we ever talk about the indians again for a while after this?"

No, technically, we died off over a 100 year on-and-off period.

Pie, you are not an indian. I don't care if your ancestors are, you're not being repressed by our government. We get it, the government screwd up, but yelling at us fixes nothing.
