TCF Top Games of 2012

Just vote for whatever games you liked the most.

Of course, I left out a number of games for later this month. FarCry 3 and Halo 4 will definitely make appearances. The new Hitman and Assassin's Creed may also show up. If you think I'm missing anything, just say so.

Not a single RTS.

To think of it though, that genre has been pretty dormant as of late and it certainly needs some love.

I didn't play any of those

Starcraft II: HotS, Planetary Annihilation, and Command and Conquer Online are still under development and I can't think of any other prominent RTS from the past year.

Oh, I guess DOTA 2 is coming out in 2012. Or so says Valve.

Ugh. Can't believe Generals 2 was gutted and is now free to play. That was my one hope for the genre.

The only one I played was Mass Effect 3 which was immensely fun to play till about the end.

You can tell its not the end of the year yet because the list would be doubled with all the FPS games coming out alone.

what about XCOM?

Haven't really played many games this year, only Mass Effect 3 and Black Mesa. Both good, but I prefer Mass Effect 3.

I really doubt it. From what I heard it wasn't that exceptional.

I watch people play games all the time, doesn't mean they are good games

Not saying that makes it good, just giving a response to Rasq's question. Really, I just wanted to put more variety in the selection.

Yah.... I thought about waiting longer to make the thread, but with the holidays coming up and most of the exciting releases finishing up in the next couple weeks, it wouldn't hurt to start now. Also, I enabled vote changing and multiple choices so it could continue through the next couple months.

And with Triple-A games... well, even though many of them are very good, they tend to not be very game-of-the-year-ish. They usually stick to what's safe to maintain a healthy fanbase. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I figured games like Assassin's Creed 3 or Halo 4 probably wouldn't get many top marks simply because they're not particularly fresh.

But most of all, I just wanted to find out what everyone's favorite games were so far and you probably know by now how impatiant I am
