Who is the best Joker?
Re: Best Movie Joker
Heh, you said black humor....PiEdude wrote:The thing is, Ledger's Joker was psychopathic, but was also very funny in sort of a black humor kind of way.
For example:
But anyways, I liked Ledger's performance, but perhaps being the closest to the comic book would be the best.

Re: Best Movie Joker
Ledgers Joker is more of the "realistic" kind of way his character would be played if he was someone in real life(which he did an excellent job of portraying)
Re: Best Movie Joker
Ledger,
Because he is the only one who can play the Joker and finish the movie with some dignity left.
Even though he did die before the movie was even released.

Which is really what all the filmmakers are going for nowadays for some reason.

Re: Best Movie Joker
Perhaps because the movie audience at large can't stand to watch the Fantastic Four swap powers every five seconds and get stopped by a single woman holding a 9mm handgun? Or perhaps because someone wearing a bright green leotard with question marks can't be taken seriously? Perhaps it's because fanschy special effects can't save a lame plot, ala Spiderman 3?PiEdude wrote:Lord Pheonix wrote:Ledgers Joker is more of the "realistic" kind of way his character would be played if he was someone in real life(which he did an excellent job of portraying)

I think one of the funniest, most ironic things about "The Dark Knight" was the Joker's catchphrase...
"Why so serious?"

Re: Best Movie Joker
The whole comic book thing turned into a movie is like.... that movie Kick Ass, you would look silly running around in tights like that.
So they have to make it look somewhat realistic, and make the characters act like they're in real life not some cartoon world where everyone is fond of mulit-colored tights.

Re: Best Movie Joker
I wasn't speaking against realism, I was just questioning Hollywood's reasoning.
For example, why go through the trouble of intricately explaining how a virus can bring dead cells back to life, and then make a 9mm bullet from a range of about 7 feet have the same kinetic force of a Louisville Slugger propelled by an ancient Roman Scorpio at point blank?
I don't get how they can really think about the biology of something, but shit all over the physics.

Hey
The T-Virus would work, if they had the virus itself
And physics are kept safe... usually. I think

I don't think that holds up to the stupid shit that series pulled out in the film after that.
Extinction really sucked ass.
Apparantly the same virus that brings dead tissue back to life, also can give the power of pyrokinesis.
BULLSHIT.
