just like 'god created the universe'?
i didn't say anything about someone tampering with it, but that there could be unseen forces acting on it.
and I've NEVER heard about gravity affecting time. are you sure you know what you're talking about? the test was to see what SPEED does to time, not gravity.
thus your incompetence is your own enemy. you have proven you don't know what you're talking about.

Re: Time
NT... you are the king of not knowing that you are talking about
gravity does affect time
to someone looking into a black hole it would seem that anyone caught on the event horizon of the black hole is frozen in time... while the person inside the black hole would observe the rest of the universe playing at an infinitely fast speed
they took the clocks into space in a geosynchronous orbit around the planet and there was a 17 second time shift... the test wasn't if speed effects time... that would be a useless test because speed is DEPENDENT on time....
the closer you are to a gravitational field the slower time goes... this is a proven fact

then how come every time relativity is ever brought up its based on the whole "teh faster you go, time slows down"?

Re: Time
the closer you get to the speed of light the slower time seems to move around you... time itself is not distorted by the speed, it just seems slower compared to those around you
gravitational fields however actually bend the space-time continum... things in orbit... especially geosynchronous orbit are moving faster... but the time in the clock is still going the same speed.
when you move away from the gravitational field the time on the clock speeds up, because time is nolonger being distorted by the gravitational effects of the planet
gravity is such a weak force however... that unless you are talking about some massive gravitational field such as a star or a black hole... then the effects are minimal... I think they had the clocks in orbit above the planet for several days to get those few seconds difference.
now if we are talking about MUCH higher speeds... as in the speed of light... time does start to distort there, but still in a relativistic fashion... if you went faster than the speed of light you would be seeing things from the past, only because you are now going faster than the light being directed at you

Time is a force acting on us, its much more than a measurement.sargentbilco wrote:your all just being idiots trying to think of excuses and smart theories

we have progress therefore time exists even without the sun
