Best Gun (Assault Rifle's)

This thread is to discuss the best gun, in your opinion. The current class of gun we are discussing, is Assault Rifles.


To be an Assault Rifle:

• It must be an individual weapon with provision to fire from the shoulder (i.e. a buttstock);
  
• It must be capable of selective fire;
  
• It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle;
  
• Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable box magazine.
  
  
  

This is a tough one...
I have a love for both the AR-15 and all of its offspring as well as the AK-47

Right now, I am going to say the AK-47 is, but i'm going to do a bit more research.

Scratch that, I am going to say that my faveorite gun by far is the G36c is.

There are some pretty cool new prototype weapons, like on futureweapons.

Because of recent information, I am forced to change what I just said. I will have to go with the AK-47.

Gold, that isn't an assault rifle. If it has a retractable stock, it isn't an assault rifle.

Its more akin to an SMG than Assault Rifle

M16 is a good rifle. Quick firing, semi-large magazine and nice accuracy.

I would have to go with the XM-8 Carbine. It is lightweight, powerful, accurate, and American.

Aesthetically.

But functionally my Favorite (Based from games) are the M4A1 or M16 because they are such average weapons

Range-wise, it's closer to an SMG, but the retractable stock is (I believe) not standard.

That's just the casing. It's an assault rifle, believe me. It was supposed to replace the M-16

My favorite assault rifle is either the Sturmgewehr-44 (The gun that gave birth to the name) or the AK-101. Just looks so much better than the M-16.

I like the FN SCAR.

Am i right in saying that Citizens of the USA can purchase any firearm they wish as long as they have a licence?

Crysis Scar, basically the XM8 thingo. Or the M16, gotta love burst!

No. Because our politics are crap. We can not purchase anything automatic or what the government considers "assault weapons". Basically any rifle with a detachable box magazine that has more than a nine round capacity and can fire semi auto. Some states and cities also have handgun bans. CA has a ban on the 50. round, so Barret refuses to sell to CA law enforcement.
