Yeah, but Halo 2 was made by (at the time) a Microsoft owned developer... so I'm sure they were probably the ones who made that decision, in the interest of their network.

If M$ wants more cash, they could let you buy an extra 100 friend slots for 800 MS points.... then again, they could do a lot of things.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Anyways, I'd say that if you have 100 people on your 'friends' list, you've either added every single person at your school who has Xbox Live, or you've added someone that you played with one night, and then never met up with again. If you actually go through your 'friends' list, and deleted all of the people that you never play with, you could probably shorten it down to a pretty brief list.

I have 12 people on my Steam 'friends' list, mainly because I routinely delete people who I've not played with for a long time (unless I know them in real life, or they are people that I've gotten to know well online.) The only use in having a lot of random people is so that you have a good amount of people online to invite to games at all times.

well, if they show the graph from 0-10 then it'll look real nice

Meh... 100 is plenty enough for me. Whenever I get close to the limit, I just go in and remove all the people that I either A) Don't really like, B) Don't really know, or C) Don't have XBL any more

It didn't. From the start, Live was limited to 100 friends. Halo 2 is the only STILL popular game that was built strictly to that model, so if Microsoft expands that limit, it will somehow destroy Halo 2 multiplayer functionality, presumably beyond patch-able limits.

There's always a way around that stuff, but M$ is probably too lazy.

Yes.... you hit the 'Y' button and it brings up your 'friends' list.

The limit for Steam is 250.

I delete a lot of my friens that I don't either know in RL, here and a few other places.
I never add anyone from a game, or any friends friends. I also try to keep my friends list quite low compared to other people.

Yah, I'm not sure why people think it's so important to add someone they play with because they had a good day on Halo or CoD.

Is that why they are planning to pull the plug on Halo 2? I thought it was just too expensive for Bungie to maintain. Well, if you want all the maps on Halo 2 you better get a copy and download them fast!

Of course, I don't see why they couldn't provide a downloadable version of Halo 2 in the Games on Demand section of the Xbox Live Marketplace with the new Xbox Live multiplayer stitched in, a lot of people still play the game.
