The F-22

I say hell no. It's getting rid of several thousand jobs, and will also put us a step behind China and Russia in terms of air superiority. If they perfect that design, that is.

and its the VF-22 Raptor, not the F-22. It's a Variable Fighter, which is the new term for Assault/Fighter or AF. It can run air support as well as air superiority.

I'd have to say no.

The PENTAGON doesn't want it, from what I've heard, and there might be a reason for that.
I'd say that funding should be shifted to drone fighters. That's where everything is going to be ten years from now, and we can't be investing in stuff that will be severely outdated by that time.

NT its the F-22 first it was the F/A-22 but they changed it to F-22 and its really only a replacement for the F-15 which there are only 400+ of but the real new arcraft is going to be the F-35 and that needs more money then the F-22

JSFs are mostly just a term. It applies to VF and AF aircraft.

but the F-35 is probably the closest thing to a definite JSF.

I'm telling you people, Autonomous machines are not a good idea.

They are a good idea, robots lives in place of humans. Now all we need is a army of droids robots...

drones aren't autonomous yet.

They've given the computers control of the motion, but the actual pulling of the trigger is still reserved for the human at the controls. whether its hellfire missiles from a Predator II or the machinegun on small tracked robots.

And thats the way it should stay. Why waste time and money programming self thinking robots. there unneeded we have plenty of human minds to use instead.

Funding in these will give our marines giant space insects to ride around and to shoot stuff with. He can make it eat people, I think its worth it...

Nobody wants self-thinking robots on the battlefield. The Machines in Terminator were not self conscious, with the possible exception of the T-1000. They were carrying out programs, like a Predator that can pull the trigger itself.

A conscious war machine, be it android or miniature tank, is about as useful as an assault rifle that can think for itself. War may eventually be fought like Skynet's army, but none of the Machines will be able to realize "I think, therefore I am," because they do not think.

I remember when I first heard about his plane on the History Channel. Was so pumped. now i is sad.

The F-22 is a waste of money and just another arms deal. Raytheon and Lockheed should have joined us building the Eurofighter; wh don't we all just work together, christ.

the eurofighter is shit compared to the Raptor.

It's not the robots themselves I'm worried about, it's the Skynet-esque computer that will eventually be running them.

The Eurofighter is only stealthy on the front.

ntm all the other design values that that raptor has over the eurofighter.

like the fact the Raptor has all its weapon systems contained inside in hull, so no matter its weapon load out, its aerodynamics won't change.

isnt the F22 supposed to be a fighter that will be used by all the armed branches? Like the Navy? or was that the JSF?
