as if the forerunner were so powerful as to create rings that destroy all life in the galaxy, they could surely make a basic chart for categorizing armor types. Much like we can ALL very easily recognize platemail from robes lol.

Armor classes. Their armor classes would have been very different from ours. Them being thousands of years more advanced.

Also, this is not we. This is a Forerunner A.I. that was about 102,500 years ago. It was based off Forerunner equipment and Forerunner technology. The basic chart was based off Forerunner armor and technology. It was not based on MLONJIR armor. How would to recognize an foreign armor with a chart based on Forerunner armor 102,500 years ago.

I think the key here is in the fact that humans are classified as Reclaimer... not as forerunner... obviously the Humans were high in the eyes of the forerunners, enough so that only a Reclaimer could activate the rings...

humans were meant to reclaim what the Forerunners lost after the halo system was activated.

My answer stays a maybe, but I achieved what I wanted to know. Figuring out that only races whom carry the "Mantle" can use the Halo Array technology.
