Yeah, there's something weird about Halo on PC. The cross-hair is freakin' huge too.

I'm pretty sure they're the same.ReconToaster wrote:Cheese wrote:Generally I'm better with the mouse, but on Halo: CE I'm just miles better on the xbox. Maybe because it was designed for xbox or because it was a rubbish port. Either way, it was far easier.

Yes, but due to the precision of the mouse, PC games typically have MUCH smaller cross-hairs. Look at anything by valve. The reticule is a tiny little cross.

I don't think it's precision: I think it's because the port was... well, pretty much the xbox version chucked on a pc monitor. They are the same size, but because the tv's further away (hopefully at least ), the cross-hair needs to be bigger.

Re: Message to all PC gamers
Take a look at RTCW, one of my favorite PC FPSs.
The reticules were a quarter of the size of the Halo reticules. And reticules are used to indicate spread of fire, so the weapons have a (MUCH) larger spread in Halo, and in console RTSs in general.

Would you recommend I find a way to buy that? I never wanted to play it because, being that I always try to play the first game in a series before any other, I didn't want to play the first wolfenstein.
Does the game have a good story and such?

Re: Message to all PC gamers
Get it!
The first Wolfenstein was a text-based game (Old as Strom Thurman) and the second was the first FPS... ever. No story to that one.
RTCW... awesome. Nazis, Zombies, Undead Nazi Ubersoldats, Tesla cannons...
Get it... and look out for the Lopers. Those things scared me more than the final boss.
