The Al Sharpton Question.

Racism? We can't have Racism! DOWN WITH THE WHITE DOMINATED NEW YORK POST!

OK, seriously, this is the Reverend Al Sharpton who gave that prayer during the Inauguration that was racist against both Asians and Whites.
So now he goes kicking up a storm of nothing over a cartoon that had NOTHING to do with Obama.

Discuss.

Quite honestly, you have to have a mindset of "Those whites are racist" to think the comic was racist in the first place.

It was comparing The stimulus package to the chimp that went nutso; how people get "They are calling Barrack Obama a chimp! Thats Racist!" outof that is something I dont just understand.

If there is somethign i have noticed about people in this nation, the people that are racist are actaully the ones who state what is racist.

I.E. A white person hangs skeletons in a noose as a Halloween Decoration.(this really happened) Many people, White, black, WHATEVER walk by and see it as someone being hung; they take no further notice.

Some Black guy waks by and says "Thats racist because there is a noose! Slaves were hung by the noose!"
Obviously, this person is two things:
1. Likely racist against whites himself
2. An Idiot

White people were hanging white people before teh slave trade even began!


The point I am trying to make is that most people that claim others are racist, are likely racist themselves. If they didn;t take race as an issue, they would ahve never had any problems with the "racist comments" int eh first place(many are not actually racist but someone always finds a way to make them racist)

I can see how it could be thought of as racist....

but really racism doesn't become racism until someone reacts to it in some huge way like that...


if the cartoonist says that his intent wasn't to be racist... then believe it... I bet you al sharpton has never had to produce something on a daily schedule like a cartoonist does... jokes are hit and miss... the cartoonist missed here... but unless he has on a regular basis shown things that can be though of as racist... then it should be ignored...

I'm with Seath. I'm tired of the obsession with the term "racist" that this country seems to have.

When I mention some black guy at my school as being a complete fucking idiot, I'm not saying it because his skin is a different color... I"M SAYING IT BECAUSE HE'S AN IDIOT.

What I find most appalling is the fact that, while black people can call white guys whatever they want, if we even mutter the word "nigger" out of context, we find a fist in our face. I really don't see how that works. People who get offended by the N-word only do so because that's how television tells them to respond.

I think what many people need to understand is that white people are not all racist. It's especially frustrating to me. Living in Ohio, a state that played a large part in the production of Civil war supplies, I find it almost repulsive that they call us Racist. Last I checked, the Civil war was the bloodiest in American History. People lost LIMBS for their freedom.

I don't understand.... Ethnic people in this country have just as much of an oppertunity to do the exact same as "white" people... if they choose to join a gang or some stupid crap like that then it is that individuals fault...



another thing I noticed when applying for college 2 years ago... there are HUNDREDS of black only scholarships... do you know how many caucasian only scholarships there are? none... because for some reason it is racist to exclude them out of ANY oppertunity for free money... while if you are a white male you are excluded from about 50% of total scholarships, WTF!


I wish that ethnic people would stop complaining about slavery and shit like that... white people were used as slaves too... until african slave traders started selling us their kinsmen for cheap... but NO african americans alive today have ever been a slave... and NO White guys around today have ever held a black guy as a slave...
