Parkour or Freerunning
Does anybody here know what it is/ do it?
For those who don't, Parkour is essentially the art of movement. It dates back to pre-civilization, when man was forced to chase and flee in order to survive. Simply put, it is the practice of moving from A to B as quickly as possible. This usually involves a lot of climbing, jumping and vaulting. And it's one hell of a lot of fun. Think Assassin's Creed.
Freerunning is similar, but more flashy. It takes the basic concept of Parkour and adds flashyness to it. In that way it's a bit more like skateboarding. This usually involves flips... lots and lots of flips. Think Matrix.
Parkour has a great philosophy behind it but I won't bore you with the details just yet. It's as deep or shallow as you want it to be. It's also gotten pretty popular in films and stuff. That guy being chased in Casino Royale through the construction yard was actually the founder of freerunning, I think. It's pretty popular in the UK but I'm not too sure how well it's known in the US.
So basically I'm trying to encourage anybody who thinks they might be interested into giving it a go - spread the love. If that fails completely, you have my word that I'll change the topic to something more along the lines of general sports But if anybody is interested in starting (woo!!) then I'm happy to give any help I can
For those who still have no idea what I'm talking about, here's our training on Saturday. Some people actually remembered to bring cameras for once!! Youtube busted them for sound... so feel free to sub in whatever music you feel like

Yeah I thought this would happen... worth a shot. And nah, i've been practising for three years.
Jae Phan is a tricker, totally different. Xin is a little closer. Here's a better example of it in a movie:

Re: Parkour or Freerunning
I do it when I'm bored.
Except I do it naked in the woods, completely coated in bacon to lure the wolves.
I had a fun weekend.
