WHAT!!!!!!!??????? there's a book? and more importantly, you actually READ a book!!!!!
Re: StarshipTroopers
um... der?
the Federal Network was thrown in for comedy factor in the movie.... the book itself is very serious... and completely different than the movie
book is way cooler

Re: StarshipTroopers
I have the book and I read through about half... and then put it down. I put it down because I had school reading to do... but it never really grabbed me. I really don't like first person very much

I liked the comedy in the first one....... I thought was a nice satire of some news networks in the U.S.
The second film was god awful. It was a TV movie through and through, and it showed.
I haven't seen Marauder

Re: StarshipTroopers
Marauder is quite epic imo. It captures the feel of the first one again.

Re: StarshipTroopers
Starship Troopers was crap.
I'm sorry to those who like it, but the EXTREMELY dated actors, wardrobe design, and the godawful script made it so bad, I shut the movie off during the cafeteria scene.
It didn't follow the book. You know why?
Because the guy who wrote the script intended it to be a parody of jingoism, pro-military news coverage, and militaristic films like Aliens. The guy submitted it, and was told to make it closer to Starship Troopers so they could cash in on the novel. The guy read it and got so depressed that he set it down after the third chapter.
I can't see the third movie being any better.
Sure, it could have been good all by itself, but they needed a better cast, script, and they needed to get away from the Starship Troopers label.
The only good thing about the movie was that it inspired the UNN in StarCraft, and therefore the third-best cutscene in the game.
