Frankly, IDK. I liked the first movie, even if it had some flaws. This looks kinda action-y for a horror movie. Looks like they're shooting for Silent Hill 3 with this one.

Silent Hill 2 will always be the best though. I still cry at the "In water" ending.

The only thing I remember about the first movie was the little kid screaming 'SILENT HIIIIIILL!' at the beginning, Pyramid head ripping some girls skin off and Sean Bean walking around looking sad.

This looks like they're trying a more action based take, which might help keep the tension up, or make it more like the Lord Pheonix-awful resident movies.

Only time will tell.

Right? Idk why people keep trying to put flashy action into SURVIVAL HORROR franchises. It's counter to what you're trying to achieve, what emotions you want to evoke.

That's because most popular horror movies since the early 80's have been slasher flicks. It's only realtively recently they've branched out into the found footage stuff and a lot of films about demonic possession.

It's easier to package and market as a horror/slasher film than a more psychological horror piece.
