The bastards killed about 200 of my men leaving one farmer and his 2 daughters in the fort alone with the bridge raised. As of now one daughter is dead and he's cleaning up the bodies of those that died of blood loss or infection.

I just abandoned yet another fort. It was in a pretty awesome location, cold with a 12 Z-level waterfall. I utilized the mostly frozen river to build a drowning trap and the 12 Z-level drop of the waterfall as a retractable bridge trap. I got all of that completed around mid-Summer my first year. It was about then that I remembered the location I chose was also completely cut off from any goblins, thus making my complex trap system worthless. Ragequit.

I must admit that made me laugh. Still you could of declared war on some of the other neighboring factions like humans or elves.

Elves wouldn't have worked because the River was frozen until summer, and humans are too useful to wage war on.

Fair enough. update on my fort - 26 immigrants arrived! reinstated a new mayor to fill the barons place. Sad He was a great guy. However as the old baron was locked in the caverns the farmer decided it would be great to disregard the fact i had an adamantine sarcophagus marked as the barons tomb, and placed a cook in it instead. dem dorfs, dem fukin dorfs.

You are aware that mining adamantine can lead to great fun, yes?

Very aware, but i'm also aware that the cavern where i got the ore is inhabited by about 20 forgotten beasts. Hence why i started to have 'fun'.

If you manage to kill enough you may be able to change the Age even! How many beasts did you put in that world?

I forgot, it was made a few days ago. I think it was medium, or whatever the middle option is.

Bin Athalamem, Metalsmith, cancels drink: Taken by a mood.

Let's see how this turns out... It's worth noting that the only metal I have right now is Gold.

UPDATE: He has occupied my only metal smith shop and began his mysterious construction.

I take it the fist spike is an artifact? Press l (I think) To bring up the artifact menu and it will tell you how much its worth, and give you a description if you want.

Well the problem is that now the caravan is here, but in the trade menu it won't let me bring it to the depot. It also isn't telling me what crafts are encrusted.
