Getting A Laptop (Other Threads Not Cool Enough)
Alright, so i guess it's my turn to make a thread about this.
I plan on getting a reasonably priced laptop that will allow me to play SC2.
I'm willing to pay around $850 but no more than that.
So far i have this as my first choice...

I was hoping you guys can post your opinions about this Laptop and/or find one that's better but still around that price.
Edit:
Found Another

^Just $30 more

I never have to make one of these threads because I always just go off of the others posted.
Now thanks to you Bacon, because we have the same interests for a Laptop (price and wanting to run SC2), this thread should help me out too.
My only question I would like to throw into the ring is, are Alienware laptops worth it at all? I know nothing about their interal hardware and such, I ask on a pure aesthetic level. I think those computer look cool so if they are actually a good buy, then maybe I'll be looking at those as well.

Alienware is really expensive for what you get.

I swear I saw one that was in Bacons price range somewhere. But looks like they are normally expensive.Kasrkin Seath wrote:Alienware is really expensive for what you get.

Rock, I've already shown this to Bacon, but you should see it too. Perhaps the most important thing for a gaming laptop is a good graphics card. If you find a computer you like, check out the graphics card on this chart.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
If it's not within the top 100 (the first 5 groups), it's probably not going to be a great gaming computer.
Also, go for at least an Intel i5 processor (preferably i7) and 4GB of RAM. On top of the 4 GB, check to see if the computer allows you to add additional RAM later on in case you want to upgrade.
Battery life, screen size/resolution, and hard drive speed could also be major influences.

both of those will play SC2 amazingly.
I had a non-gaming $600 laptop last year that could play it easy.

Quite a bit better than the ones you posted (due to having a much better gpu), but its $50 more than you wanted.

Agreed (though I'm not sure about the battery life.... I'd guess 2 hours, which can be pretty devastating. I could be wrong, though)Elabajaba wrote:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230021
