The older Battlefield games have almost nothing in common with the Call of Duty games, when it comes to gameplay. Battlefield is about large groups fighting for control points, often using vehicles and a non-customizable or barely-customizable class system. Call of Duty is about small groups of people fighting either in a deathmatch style or in a round system with full customization as far as weapon load out goes.

That is to say, Battlefield games are about team play and strategy and Call of Duty games are about reaction time and lone wolf. Call of Duty multiplayer is much more comparable to games like Counter Strike or maybe even Team Fortress, but certainly not Battlefield. Now, Bad Company 2 is a bit more comparable, but that was because BC2 wasn't really like previous Battlefield games because DICE was too busy trying to emulate CoD6:MW2.

Uhh, no. BC2 is about as team based and team oriented as you can get on the Xbox.

It's not just recommended, it's pretty much manditory if you wanna do well.

Sure you can go on your own but, you won't get very far.

Simplying Playing an assault kit and re-supplying snipers or a medic and just reviving people will net you to the top of the list if nobody is even going after the objectives

I get thousands of points just for spamming motion mines at Mcom stations

I'm talking about the actually objective though. PLaying Rush and all. Play Squad Death Match for kills.

It's takes the team to win the objective or deffend it. Takes the team to win the death match too.

Well i mean to say is simply helping your team instead of camping in a corner rewards you more than just going for kills. Its very easy to tell who is a Cod player in bad company becuase they are usually the snipers camping in the back screwing eachother.

Yeah, I get cha.

And if you play the game that way, your not helping anybody. The game's set up for team play. The classes can help each other and they do.

I found BF:Heroes horrible.
It was like Battlefield plus one of those terrible Asian CS clones.
I hate Freemium.

what about forward positioned snipers? like those they don't simply camp, but tactically neutralize the enemy's defensive force. That's what I would do in BC1. Half the time I'd sneak into some blownout building in the enemy base and do support by fire.

BC2 is more team-based than CoD4 and CoD6, but it isn't as team-based as previous games. It is the only of the Battlefield series that I think is really even comparable to any of the CoD games. My point was, Battlefield is not just CoD with vehicles, and that even the most comparable (BC2) is still quite different from the CoD gameplay style.

Maybe true, but still. I've played both COD and BC2 and I can say with certainty that those are 2 completely different games. Gameplay and mechanics wise.

This is just my own opinion of course.

But When it comes to BC2 being like COD, that's the only point I was deffending.

I'm still waiting on v1.3 for Battlefield Vietnam. v1.21 was supposed to be a temp fix for issues introduced by v1.2, after all. I will say that v1.5 for Battlefield 2 was quite nice for those of us who didn't buy Armored Fury or Euroforce.
