Re: Battlefield 3
yeah, its pretty bitchin, and, while it still misses on some obvious innaccuracies, it still feels much more 'real' than call of duty and medal of hnor (which was already a step up from call of duty).
whats actually funny, is when I was doing some shit with my rifle last week, I realized that MANY games, if not all, forget to put a reflection dampener on the ACOGs, and then I watched this stuff and noticed they forgot it as well, even though theres all kinds of comments on the 'attention to detail'.

If you just realized that last week, and you're in the military using the stuff, then why are you complaining about civillians having minor errors?KristallNacht wrote:whats actually funny, is when I was doing some shit with my rifle last week, I realized that MANY games, if not all, forget to put a reflection dampener on the ACOGs, and then I watched this stuff and noticed they forgot it as well, even though theres all kinds of comments on the 'attention to detail'.

Re: Battlefield 3
cause I haven't spent any time with an ACOG outside of MCT where I had much more important things to worry about.
but for them specifically making these weapons in so much detail, how have they never seen that?

They haven't spent time with it, like you?
They think it intefers with gameplay?
They don't think it looks good?

I dislike the look of the shooting in the game, seems to have very little recoil (especially the lmg).

you mean SAW....just because they ignore their military advisors, doesn't mean you should refer to it innacurately as well...
which, btw doesn't have all that much recoil. It actually has less recoil per shot than an m16, and significantly less than an m4, as it does weigh more than the combined weight of an m4 and m16 before you add the ammo box. It fires the same size round, and at a slower firerate than the m16 on burst and the m4 on full-auto. and half the time he was using it was hip fire or on a bipod.
The 50 at the end of the video should have had a bit more kick, as, even on those solid turret mounts, it still kicks quite a bit. but it wasn't that far off.

Meh, that's what I thought when Bad Company 2 trailers were being released. I'll not get excited over a DICE game until I see proper, real results in their game quality.

yes it is. because standard video is displayed at 29.97 frames per second, so almost no matter what, that video is at 30fps.

Re: Battlefield 3
Well, sadly, I did not get to see BF3 this e3. I was among the very first group into the showfloor today, the very first group without a special, expensive exhibitor badge, that is, and even then, the BF3 line was already halfway around the EA booth (which is itself rather large). Given no contact with Aaron (who might have gotten an EA VIP badge today), I just had to say "fuck it" and do other stuff. Like TOR again.
Re: Battlefield 3
There better be an option to turn that fucking light bloom off. The smoke obscuring vision is kinda cool though, and that thermal doesn't make everything super obvious and easy to see (it is a desert in day, after all)

ntm, no one I have ever met has heard of a green thermal. Including the guys that have the job of fixing thermal optics and night vision optics.
