Re: greatest people in music
...
You're all naming people that had little to nothing to contribute to music.
How about the people who invented notes?
Pythagoreans anyone? The people who made the musical ladder thingy of notes? Kind of important, without it music wouldn't exist as it does today.

They still literally revolutionized music
Everyone that you all named couldn't succeed without what they did.

Re: greatest people in music
Not true. And they had 5 amazing albums up until they started losing it. And even then, there was at least one song on those albums that were still good.squirrelboy wrote:after their first four albums, Metallica sold out and they now suck.
Death Magnetic is great. As good as the original 5? No, of course not. But to come back after saying "getting back to our roots".They did just that, and it's awesome!
And Justice For All is my favourite album btw. Followed by Master of Puppets, then I'd say Kill em' All, then Ride The Lighning, then The Black Album and then Death Magnetic.
But as for favourite song of all time by them. Blackend, then For Whom the Bell tolls. and etc etc. Too many to choose.
As you can see, I fucking love Metallica! \m/

okay, ill give credit to the black album. Half the songs on there were good. but that was where they started turning for the worst.
and as for selling out, i saw master of puppets on a nascar commercial, and their new shirts look like some emo ed hardy shit.

Re: greatest people in music
After the Black is when it started. The Black album is still considered to be in that category of their original stuff.
It's been nearly 30 years sence they released their first album. I think they have made their stand of who they are already, and can go ahead and put their songs where they want. That doesn't make them any less of legends. When I go to sporting events sometimes I hear their songs all the time, does that make me think less of them? Hell no! I think "all right Metallica at the baseball game, awesome!"
As for their shirts looking emo. I see a lot of Metallica shirts where I work new & old and frankly, emo? I dont see it.
I hate that term "selling out" anyway. No band can last forever, so when they finally start to fall apart somewhat or start to lose their shine, people call it selling out and start hating them. To me, that makes no sence. It's like how some people only like their sports teams when they're winning. That's just my feeling personally.
But, I am a Metallica Fanboy. They were the first band I remember listening too, my first CD I purchased and my first concert.

that one is pretty sick.
The reason i dont like the one i posted earlier is because its way to colorful and has way to much going on. And the fact that it says nor cal pisses me off for a reason i cant quite place.
and my internet sucks right now, but google image "ed hardy shirt" and youll see a resemblance
