I think they care more about the animals than eating properly. But yeah, I'm on the side of supplements being food here on the pure basis that I want a future in which we all have the option to be perfectly healthy on nothing but the food pill.

If they can recreate a part of that, more power to them.

Ironically, the very source from which you gleaned this information also specifically states that dietary supplements are inherently separate from one's diet. They're like a wheelchair for handicapped diets.

When asked where you got the info, did you link to the FDA or Wikipedia? That should answer the question as to what I referred to when talking about your source.

You could've just said wikipedia... it'd be easier.

And I don't care about the rest of the article, just the part where the FDA regulates it as a food. Everything else doesn't matter, what does matter, is what the Food and Drug Administration lables dietary supplemenet as.

What would have been easier would be you understanding a source.

Actually, I would say that whether or not dietary supplements are considered as part of one's diet is more important than whether or not the FDA wants to call dietary supplements an unconventional food or a drug, as this would lead to one wondering as to whether or not "unconventional" foods are counted as part of one's diet.

Why shouldn't they be? They're still foods, so they should still be apart of your diet.

The article that marks them as unconventional foods seems to disagree.

So? That's wikipedia, I only used that to find out what the FDA's opinion was on "unconventional foods". Apparently they think it's food, hence the "foods" in the word. I'm going to take their word for it.

I like how there's two people defending the diet but there's only one vote for it being healthy. Razz

Do you know what the word "unconventional" means?

You could just as well call the food the astronauts eat "unconventional," but it's still food.
