woah, kinda cold to say you dont care about a place that has been devastated by an earthquake...even if bungie are just doing it for publicity they're still giving money to haiti so its sill goodish. Smile

People actually GIVE A SHIT this time. The reaction to this is a lot more active than that of Katrina, which actually happened in America. Now companies are trying to profit out of this situation...Well, that is actually predictable.
Of course, when Katrina hit, the country it targeted was a tad richer than Haiti. The US had the resources to rebuild Katrina, Haiti is kind of on it's own. Also, the earthquake totally destroyed Haiti's government and social services, i don't think any politicians died in Katrina.

Also, why would Bungie give a shit about the population of Halo 3 and ODST? They don't get paid for people playing their game.

I'd like to add that all the UN leadership on Haiti were killed in the diaster, which has slowed their response significantly.

They're pretty much on their own and tensions there are rising. I wouldn't be surprised if a full on gang war broke out.

Okay, so I don't care about Hati enough to get my lazy ass to donate, but I do care for the people that died and that have to live in those poor conditions.

Still not donating though...

I care that people died, and that's a tragedy, but I mean, come on, are you actually shocked that a country filled with hundreds of shantytowns is suddenly suffering disaster? Now that it's happened, everyone is rushing to donate.....The reaction to Katrina was nowhere near as big as this, and that one hit closer to home.
Haiti didn't help itself in trying to prevent it, and California gets 7.0 earhquakes about every year. No one rushes to give them money everytime it happens.
I do see a Gang War in the near future of Haiti though.

the difference between Katrina and Haiti... is that New Orleans is a city... the entire nation of Haiti was decimated by this earthquake... their buildings weren't made for earthquakes... so the comparison between a 7.0 there and a 7.0 in california would be as if a 9.0 had hit california

if an earthquake had just hit one city... we wouldn't give two shits... but their entire country has been destroyed by this

That area to world has just gone from one disaster to another. They got hit last year with the hurricanes that ripped up the Caribbean.

There has been fighting in that country for years, and this hasn't helped.

Their government and economy can't deal with this, that's why they need the aid.

Additionally, Katrina had the richest country in the world backing it up, and they didn't lose their government/social services. It was also a situation in which people could get fairly quickly and had larger warning.

I hadn't really kept myself up to date on the situation in Haiti before the earthquake, aside from the Marine Operation in 03. But yeah, I hope people realize that companies are probably going to exploit the situation more than actually help.

Probably, but I have faith that Bungie is doing it for good reason not, to cash in.

Though to be honest all the world leaders are loving this, It's a time to make them look good.

Your fucking cock sucker you know that?
And you're a fucking 14-year old fairytale dreaming idiot who will fail at REAL LIFE! Generosity should not be expected of people, ESPECIALLY not a buisness people, like Bungie.

It's better to assume everythings shit and find out it's good rather than assuming its good and nice and finding out it's shit.
Hahaha funny, their still doing something good idiot. Its not like their asking us for the money to pay for it, they just want us to play. Why don't you stop being a pessimistic bastard? Ever think of doing that? Well Gauz if you think everything is shit then your more likely to see it as shitty, if you see everything with at least some hope in it, it wont be as bad as it could be.

Exactly.

Im not surprised they used it as a marketing ploy, I had the feeling that they were from the beginning when I read their article, though I didn't want to ruin the good mood.

Not all the time. You use it when the word SOUNDS like a vowel.

Ex. "it's been half AN hour"
