You wont get anywhere without extra effort from yourself, though. It's up to you to utilize that education. There are plenty who do not, and plenty who fail horribly.

Your opportunities are more plentiful, and your path to success is easier, but it is still ultimately up to you. (a majority of) The lower class has these same opportunities, but it requires more dedication.

My point is, I'm not going to give up what I have worked for in order to help someone who is not dedicated, someone who will not properly use what is given to them.

The lower class is NOT getting the education that is being given out at my school. They do NOT have the oppurtunity or money to go to college. I do, and i don't have to try anywhere near as hard as they do. You nor i worked any harder than the middle class, but we live with much more wealth, and opportunities are plentiful and easy.

Before you say anything about you trying oh so hard and middle class kids doing shit, let me just inform you that i put little to no effort into my education yet i am on my easy way torwards college and hopefully a job as a computer engineer.

AMERICA
THE LAND OF THE FREE

Hey guys at least you don't live in China. Just think about that when you realise your country is bending over and taking it (pretty deep and pretty hard) from Obama. I read an article today about this Chinese professor who was jailed for 11 years for starting a petition against the Chinese government, and was denied rights for 2 years.

Anyway, cheer up Americans. At the end of the day, you've got nowhere near as many Muslims as the British, and you aren't facing a Chinese invasion like the Australians.

And still, it's not like you guys aren't able to indulge in your capitalistic and materialistic pleasures as you already have been doing for so long.

I'm not upper class. My mom works for the billing department at UPS and my dad is an auto glass worker. Neither of them finished college, and my mom was lucky to get to go for what little time she had.

What about the lower class is any different from you as far as education? Do they not go to the same public school? Do they not have the same teachers? Do they not have the ability to go get a job and save up money for college?

Ziggy, I don't think you have any appreciation for where the US is right now. We have a national debt of 12 trillion dollars and climbing at a rate of over 3 billion per day.

if a tax was being imposed to give more money to teachers and help fund more schools... then I would be fine with it... but these people aren't going to spend my money on going to a college

BTW... there is a thing called a scholarship... if a person tries in school... and does well and gets one of these... guess what? college is attainable.

life isn't fair... thats just the way it is... but I shouldn't be punished just because I have worked my ass off to get where I am and taxing business owners isn't going to help them in the end anyways...

their limit of 250,000 dollars puts nearly all small business owners under the fence here... as with the 5% income tax that means they are now cashing out an EXTRA 12,500 dollars a year on top of other taxes, business expenses, and paying their employees/ employee benefits.

you know who is going to suffer for this? because its not going to be the small business owner... no... its going to be the employees getting several less dollars an hour, and layoffs.

part of having money is being able to spend it how you please... if you own a business and suddenly are forced to pay away most of your money.... tough shit for your employees.

this is not a socialist country... there are haves and have nots... its unfair, but guess what? life is fucking unfair.

BTW... im not a have either... my family is military... my dad worked his ass off and became a naval officer and now we are doing slightly better
