The Colonel was never without oxygen for more than at LEAST a minute or less.

I'm talking about during the final fight, the Colonel's blast shield is broken for a few minutes, THEN he put on a rebreather, when he should already be dead.

Did you see how long it too Jake to fall unconcious after he was exposed to Pandora's atmosphere?

His survived for a good 3-4 minutes before he need a rebreather.

During the final fight it was off for maybe a minute.

The gun was smashed into it so it was leaking SOME into it but not enough to do real damage as the suit itself probably feeds oxygen into the chamber he sits in. So he should be fine with that.

Then he kicks it off and breathes for maybe twenty seconds if even before he gets the mask on.

I thought it was more around 30-90 seconds, hardly a minute. But w/e. Nobody cares, cuz the movie was too epic otherwise.

It wasn't that long he went without breathing noc, the fight lasted just about as long as jake lasted when he was concious. That and he's tough, so he just naturally would be able to convert the atmosphere into gas he could breathe.

Heh... I thought about it for a while...

Avatar actually has more in common with Battlezone II than Fern Gully Razz

I knew there was a reason I loved this movie.

Yeah, my friends said he saw it 3 times, twice in Imax 3d, spent more then his share of that bunny.

It really is an amazing movie as well as a revolutionary movie. Cameron is not the most imaginative directors, but he certainly is one of the most intuitive with his filming techniques, such as the binocular camera thing that made decent 3d filming possible.

The thing is with Avatar, I saw it, and I don't know if many of you noticed, but even down to some of the smallest details, there wasn't much creativity in the design, such as the Pandoran Flora/Fauna. Most of what you saw on Pandora were deep see creatures or modge podged animals, like the hummingbird horses, and Christmas tree worm...trees. Even with this, the movie was a little too similar to others, even one that James Cameron already made (Aliens).

But still, it was probably one of the best movies I have seen.

Pieman, take note of my analysis, explaining both pros and cons and examples of each.

Yeah, he was pretty bad ass, but... He was a little too bad ass, you know what I mean? Like, you can only say so many bad ass things, that it gets a little... cheesy?

Well, anyway, with the inevitable sequel releases, he's going to have to flesh out characterization in a world without Colonel, or worlds, as in a whole universe. His next films, I hope will have better, more unique story arcs. In fact, he may have made the original as a stepping stone, where risk taking may have proven too risky for his own good, as he put it, it was the movie he wanted to make since he was a kid, and I doubt that the story ends here.

(although it did have one clean ending)

Yeah, the ending was perfected.

I saw it once, in the super 3d, and I loved it. I can't really explain it. The mechs were really cool, but the whole motion sensor thing didn't quite fit. The story wasn't bad, but wasn't special. The Na'vi were cool, and all the vehicles rocked. I want to see it again.

IMHO, the Colonel was a good character, and far better in his role than the Merc from District 9. I found that only a few of his lines were cheesy, and most of them were cheesy because of his accent.

I noticed that a lot of the flora and fauna was similar to earth-like flora/fauna, but you won't hear me praising this movie for Purity of Form. But I WILL point something out. The animals (Most of the animals. At least the big ones, equivalent to mammals) all shared similar traits, such as breathing equipment being separate from the mouths (eating) and they all had two pairs of forelegs. Similar traits that point towards a common evolution, what you'd expect from the fauna of a given world. The Na'vi, on the other hand... completely different, but they also had only one... nerve... Bio-USB... thingy...

So, they have a different (Far different) evolutionary ancestry than most of the land beasts.

The horses... on the other hand... I would have nixed those and gone with something else, although I'd be hard pressed to think of something 'original' for the Na'vi to ride. Cats, wolves, bears, birds, worms, it's all been done in sci-fi and fantasy. Mostly fantasy... and a lot of anime.

And trust me, I'm sure Cameron has thought of other plot lines to pursue in the Pandoraverse. Having been writing Isolation for three years, I know how ideas branch off into parallel plots and potential sequels/prequels. The problem is, if you want to do something in a given universe in Hollywood, it has to have ALL of the major elements of that universe. Good luck getting an Aliens movie going with just the Colonial Marines, or just the Colonists and Weyland-Yutani.

Saw Avatar last night. It was incredible. I highly enjoyed it.

There was one moment though, when
Spoiler:
I just felt like crying with joy. Like, I wanted to cry, it was that amazing. Incredibly immersive in 3D.
