Banished
Prologue
“Tyred?” asked Sarius, chuckling.
“Hmm? Sorry, I was away with the world. What was it?” Lyle questioned.
Sarius didn’t answer, he just smiled and gestured a yawn.
Lyle nodded. “It’s this landscape, bare, baron, its bores me, I want some action!”
Sarius looked on into the distance. “This landscape if bare grassland hold more than you think. Just look over there” he gestured towards a small forest with rocks scattered around its exterior. “There, keep an eye on that or you’ll find that one day you won’t wake up” He said it with a sence of power, insinuating that Lyle was weaker.
Lyle looked frustrated “Yeh well, that’s miles away. Besides, it’s easy for you, being a wizard ‘en all, But just wait until they feel the power of my blade.”
Sarius raised his voice “Easy? You think studying ancient power is easy? Reading endless books for weeks to find one sentence, then for it to be in some ancient tongue?”
“Wow, calm down big man, just saying.” Sarius wasn’t a big man. He stood around five foot nine, long grey hair and wore a headband with an embedded blue gem. Which supposedly gave him his power, but many say it is his endless research and devotion to study. He was a great, wise man who had seen battle.
“Well, watch your tongue next time!” He was like a father to Lyle, as he was untrained, unpredictable, he needed guidance. His foolishness has already caused to many deaths. His punishment? Banished. Now, he rides with Sarius, surviving on a quest that he knows nothing about.
“Anyway, what’s with this quest we are on? Don’t tell me some god spok-“He stopped, remembering only mere moments ago what a shout he got when he said Sarius’ life was easy.
Sarius realised this and gave a respectful huff. Then he started to chant on about how Lyle shoud behave.
“You know your father wouldn’t want you to be like this…”
Lyle hated it, anything to shut him up was good, but he never said that.
“Your mother wouldn’t neither…” He carried on.
Lyle wished, he wished for something to happen. But he may have wished to hard.
“Erm….Sarius, we may have a little problem.”
“Don’t interrupt me!”
“No, this is important.”
“What’s more important than listening to, and respecting your elders?” After that he ignored Lyle.
Frustrated, Lyle just shouted. “ORCS!”
He was right, a small band of orcs were charging towards them, revealing themselves from the small forest they were talking about moments ago. Sarius was right.
Sarius quickly readied his staff whilst Lyle whispered under his voice, “Bring it”
