Uh, WTF did she say? Science proves nothing?

So, she's saying that Japan DIDN'T get destroyed by a bomb created with SCIENCE?

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by humans, not Science.

Sigh.

Another bunch of extremists. Like Dud said, every religion has their extremes (Except maybe buddists.)

These people are so narrow minded, they focus only on the supposed word of god and nothing else. The basically see the world as those who believe what they believe, and those who don't.

Creationism is one way that people believe humanity began, Evolution is another. In the end it comes down to the indivivduals opinons of what is right. Evolution is just a theory, it's not been confirmed. People support it, as they believe the evidence put forward makes it likely.

Creationism is based purely that God made the world, that's a judgment made because of faith.

Neither can be see as right or wrong.

No, as I was trying to explain while you were screaming that in my ear, evolution is a theory that has evidence to support it. Nobody but the extreme are hailing it as proven.

I think he's referring to this: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2009/05/19/2009-05-19_missing_link_found_fossil_of_47_millionyearold_primate_sheds_light_on_.html

Evolution has not been confirmed. We have not found the missing link. We discovered the fossil remains of a 47 million year old primate (couple thousands of years old if you ask Civ) that MIGHT possibly illustrate a link between Man and Ape. It is not proof, it is just another shred of suggestive evidence.

Yah, no. If we evolved from apes as evolution suggests, there would be million of those missing link fossils and the apes wold have died out.

No, not really. Different enviroments call of different adaptations, so other species would form.

You obviously don't understand evolution...

The theory does not state that we evolved from apes. It states that Apes and Humans both came from a common ancestor, which has since died out.

Then how the hell would a missing link prove anything? May as well just be a new species.

I suppose you wouldn't grasp the importance of empirical evidence...

It wouldn't prove anything. It would just strengthen the basis of Evolution. If they were to find a species that has the features of both modern apes and Neanderthals, it would make evolution a much more fitting theory. It would give scientists a possible REAL WORLD species that they could proclaim as a possible ancestor, and therefor the theory would have more relevance.

So you're insisting that it would be an ancestor to both humans and apes. I suppose that makes sense, but doesn't really prove anything.

Missing link hasn't been found.
Except for that lemur-like thing with the humanish hands...

But I would like to point out that no archeologist says that their theories as to how the Mayans or the Oltecs lived are anything close to proven. We'd need a MUCH more thorough fossil record to get anywhere close to proving anything.

CivBase wrote:Yah, no. If we evolved from apes as evolution suggests, there would be million of those missing link fossils and the apes wold have died out.
That's not how evolution works.

Angatar wrote:The Stork must have made the universe! It brings babies, so it maybe it brought the universe, too!
Yes! It brought that superdense particle that 'inflated' into the known universe within a few femtoseconds! IT ALL MAKES SENSE!

Any further along this line, and we're going to have another war again.
