He actually got beat by Julius Ceasar. Wouldn't that make him a worse conquerer than Ceasar?

well, if we're stating to use the less "traditional" great conquerers, I'd say Belisarius was rather bright... though I don't think he's the very very best

Id say Jesus, he conquered 1.2 billion people, and then, those military conquerors that stemmed off of this fought amongst each other on mere misinterpretations of what he said.

He only conquered a few thousand people at most, and other got the 1.19 billion people.

I actually have to agree with that. He brought down the Roman empire, conquered the barbarians, and was responsible for the creation of the catholic church. The church was unquestionably the most powerful political (and by extension military) organization ever seen in human history.

He didn't bring down the Roman Empire, nor did he conquer barbarians, and he also didn't directly create the Catholic Church.

Let's NOT turn this into a religious thread, we already have one.

But yes, i'd have to say Jesus wasn't a conquerer, he was a political leader at best.

Being the Devil's Advocate here, but by saying that Jesus was not a prophet opens a whole new can of shit to turn into a religious discussion.

...whether or not he was a prophet wouldn't change him being a political leader. The pope is a politcal leader. Does that mean he is not the voice of god?

And both sides should agree Jesus did not truly conquer anything. Sure, he might have conquered fears or opression, but that's not truly conquering something in this debate.

Anyways, could we not bring religion in this? No religious figures have really managed to actually conquer other than the medieval popes.

Now, by conquerer, are we talking about conquering just land and people? I don't think it has to be on such a large scale to make them good, but it sure as hell give them points if they did.

Otherwise, I agree with Genghis Khan being the best. Dog eaters FTW
