*Rolls eyes.

There is no way humans can destroy the Earth. We can wipe the surface clean with nuclear warfare, but that ain't going to happen.

That's what I meant. And how do you know that?

Even Tom Clancy said so!

Tom Clancy also thought that the F-22 was going to be the "Rapier" and that it's nickname from pilots was going to be the "Lightning II".

Not to mention he also thought that the U.S. would recover from the economic assault it's recieving from Japan and China.
But it probably would've been better if he were rigbht about that one... Sad

I was joking. Gosh...

Tom Clancy has a nice imagation though.

Yah it can... All we need to do is make a time machine to go in the future and find out.

um....you are aware that the moment out technology fails we're back to the stoneage right? we don't have low-tech mediums.

so, if you read the link I posted about a report from NASA, you'd see how in 2012, the worlds entire power grid could be destroyed for upwards of 10 years, effectively destroying civilization.

not really

we know how to make the stuff we have nowadays (and the past stuff)

so we wouldn't have to rediscover wheels and steam power and bow+arrow or anything like that

Pshh.

AK-47s were MEANT to be made in small little villages by unskilled labor.
Half of the diesel locomotives in the US can be run without electricity.
It wouldn't really be all that hard to make 1940s era machine tools.

We'll be fine.

none of which have any direct bearing on law and order (except the AKs, but they are equally for disorder)

I really think you guess are overestimating america's ability to operate in a global blackout

hell, most of the things that really matter (and alot of the stuff that doesn't) only a few REALLY know how to do.

omg....

does that guy live in your immediate vicinity? no? okay then, you're fucking screwed.

get it now?

clearly you're of the internet age where everything is immediately accessible. After civilization (the powergrids) fail, its back to the times before letters in the mail were the only way to communicate.
