Yeah, it's a part of the Ryanverse, but so is Teeth of the Tiger, since it includes references to Ryan, and stars his son/nephews.

But banning assault rifles from being sold to the public will not stop their distribution among criminals, it will only take them away fromt he rest of the populace.

Whether you need something or not has never really been a basis for lawmaking in the U.S.

By that logic, the government could say "You Dont need pie because there is cake and ice cream, so its being banned from being sold in the U.S."

If Assault Rifles are banned, I have a feeling the Higher Powered Hunting Rifles will be targeted next, then slowy everything else as well. The people that started this movement and are in full support of it are also those who want to ban public gun ownership in the U.S.

The difference is, they're saying we can't have PiE because the PiE is more likely to kill more people even faster than the cake or ice cream.

I think auto weaponry should be allowed. I mean, it could help you kill that bear THAT much faster.Lol. Actually, they really should be allowed, it's just that they need certain restrictions. MCattacked MCbattle

Here's a line from the Simpsons:

Fast food is more likely to kill people faster than healthy food, so lets completely ban it from the U.S.

You mean like that?

My point is, Banning them wont stop anything and will only piss people off while taking away their rights.

No, I mean it isn't possible to use a Big Mac to kill 50 people in the same room by shooting bullets out of it.

But what are the chances of that happen? You are more likely to die by choking on that big mac than by getting shot with an assault rifle. That combined with the fact that there is a Big Mac for each person in that room...

For one, assault rifles are not nearly as dangerous as people think. The ones they want to ban are Semi-AUtomatic ones. To get one is hard as well, they do big background checks on the people who legally buy them.

For those using them to kill, they are almost guaranteed coming from the black market, and thus wouldn;t be affected by such a ban.

It's possible to do that with ammonia, fireworks, or a simple electrical chord and water (well, maybe not bullets... but still).

You could always just filla couple of bottles with Ammonia and Bleach then dump them in a crowded area. MUCH easier to conceal and use.

But you have a choice in eating BigMac, you can't exactly turn to a loaded assault rifle and say, 'No sorry, I'm on a diet. No eating lead until November.'

Hmmm....

Peanuts kill, should we ban peanutbutter?

Cancer kills, should we ban diet coke because it contains carcinogens?

Chainsaws and knifes kill, should we ban them?

What about fireworks? Should we just celebrate the 4th of July by overeating? What would our forefathers think about that?!?!

More people die of smokeing, alcohol, and driving than guns, should we ban all of those?

Is it really worth loosing the deffense in case someone tryes to break in your house, you confront a serial killer, there is a major revolutoion, or the zombie apocalypse finaly arives? I know that if I ever meat LP in real life, I'd want a fully loaded MP40 tucked under my jacket at all times.

Civ, I think the idea is that, unlike any of the items you listed, guns are meant to be weapons. They are built specifically to kill.

Still not sure how I feel about banning them...

Pistol are built to kill. Uzis are built to kill. Mac10s are built to kill....and THESE are the weapons in the hands of those killing.

Gangs don't use assault weapons. Except for a few ak47s here and there, but those saturate the market so much anybody could get one illegally.

In california, if you follow the legalities of owning weapons you can have semi-automatic rifles, but the clip size can't be past 15, making it practically useless except as a large, accurate pistol.
