Re: TCF Zombie Plan
Well, everything I have submitted are plans assuming i am able to leave before the infection reaches my area(and if it ends up being like resident evil, it will start in my backyard > )
If I am unable to make it out of town, im still in a good position. My area is a combination of deep ditches, a river and open fields. I personally have two weapons on hand(.22, 12-guage) in hand and enough supplies for a month. In town there is a large Grocery/Hardwar store for those kinds of supplies.
The school would probably be the best defensive position. Although there are many entry points, inside the school the halls are not to wide nor to narrow, and are not bery long or short in any position(making them well accomidated for both slow and fast zombies).
Also in the school are enough materials and the equipment to weld 1 inch plate steel over all but a few entrences(and some large open window areas). In the surrounding area, there are more than enough materials.
Speaking of my area, due to the close proximity of Dow Chemical, Dow Corning and Hemlock Semiconductor, I could easily gather electrical equipment, solar cells, Chemicals of various kinds, Napalm... the list goes on and on.
So by this point I would likely be holed up in the school with enough supplies for likely a 1/3 of the year(assuming there are about 100 survivors in the school). Before that food runs out, we would have to organize raids into the Tri-Cities.
Saginaw may as well be considered off limits however... the landscape, tight buildings and general terrain would make it a deathtrap if you were to get stuck or ambushed. Places that would be alright to head to would be the Outskirts of Saginaw(The Commercial District, outlying suburbs) Midland and possibly Bay City.
There is a major problem with the area in general, assuming about 80% of the population were zombies, there could be upwards of 800,000 within a two hour's walk from the school. To prevent a complete overun of the school would require more fortification.
Around the scool is open ground for at the shortest, about fifty yards(minus the parking lot). During safe periods a deep(20-30 foot) ditch could be dug around the school; set up with a steep wall on the school's side and a slope on the other.
Where the parking lot is, a smaller ditch could be dug between it and the road, and gates could be put up at the two entrances into it. The parking lot could then serve as a motor pool and workstation during safe periods.
Overall, the latest fortification would fortify a space approx. 1 square mile in size. This opens up room for solar arrays, small gardens and room to drill a well(although I would reccomend gutting the gym and bulding a water well there)
to be continued

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
I'm surprised just how defendable schools really are. I mean, I've always seen schools as being built like prisons, at least in my region, but they are actually quite useful. I'll draw up a map of my school sometime to show what I mean, for those of you whose schools aren't as defendable.
Re: TCF Zombie Plan
Mine is set up so its impossible to get into the hallways once the doors close.
There is a main hallway and the others halls come off of those, and where each hall connects there are doors. These doors once closed are not openable from the outside, they are as flat as a wall and no one will be able to get in through them(was built for lockdown situations)

My Zombie Plan: Japan.
The Japanese will not be affected by the Zombie virus, because A) their DNA has been heavlily altered by the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs, and B) the Japanese are already parasites, feeding off the resources and culture of whatever nation has conquered them most recently.

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
Dang you all!
I will probably get as fast as possible to a place called Bergen. City with acces to the sea, and a naval submarine base inside one of the mountains. The city is surrounded by 7 mountains with different height levels in the city itself.
From there on I will do as the situation requires..
And now I wish I had a zombie game...

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
I think going crazy would be kind of fun. Maybe snap, find myself a weapon, and kill all the other refugees in the area...I was flying up to you, right Recon?
Re: TCF Zombie Plan
Another note about my school:
My school is very strangely set up. Because it has had continual additions there are MANY points where there are small windows withint eh school(on the interior rooms, windows facing hallways and outside, larger rooms) which would make for a great defense inside the school. They are large enough to fit a gun barrel trough and barely large enough for a hand to fit through.
Another key point is that the school is built up on a mound, with a concrete slab surrounding the exterior (its rasied about ground level by like 5 feet) and to add onto this there is about a 3 foot wall along the outer edge of it.
The weak points of this are the stairs and the the ramps leading up to the doors... however the outside wall would make a great front line defense.

Are you saying you'd shoot me?
Anyways, I forgot to mention that my school has a built in green-house. We get use this for the production of some fruits and vegetables. The thing isn't huge, so it could probably only support enough food for a few delicacies for TCF members... not for all the refugee citizens.

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
I plan on injecting myself with all of the blood from several zombies that I drain (maybe even put into other animals to mutate the virus)
this super amount of the virus will cause me to become a super zombie.... but I will be able to control it... and be superman
then I will fly around the planet counterclockwise to cause time to go backwards to before I injected myself with the virus
thus causing a time paradox... destroying the space time continuum... and killing all the zombies (and everyone else sadly)

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
* I would pack a radio, food, and neccessary equipment into my car. This takes about five minutes.
* I would then pick up two friends, one of whom hunts a lot. Additional survivors will have to exhibit no bite marks, and would have to either be hot chicks who know their way around guns, or ex-Marines toting large-caliber weaponry.
* An SUV will be taken, and we'll drive it out into the middle of a crop circle devoted to growing wheat. We may bring along my freind's ATV and motorcycle. Even his dune buggy, if he still has it.
* During the night, we will take inventory of our weapons. We may go back to my house to get propane equipment, siphon as much gasoline and diesel as possible, and get a shop vac. The shop-vac will be loaded with gasoline and used as a primitive flamethrower until we can get something better. Additionally, propane bottles (The small ones used for soldering) will be wired to explode and used in satchel charges.
* We will immediately begin raiding nearby fast food joints and food processing centers for food. Welding and machine tools will be taken in the SUV. We will try to steal an electric generator if we can find one, and take a pickup or two if they are left at the factories. All raiding teams will have to stick together and be well-armed.
* More and more supplies will have to be gathered. For the first two months, we will be living in a camper, which is mobile and can be quickly packed up.
* When the Zombies settle down and become organized, or at least predictable, we will begin raiding Ziggy's and Home Depot for concrete and lumber. Any more supplies will be liberated from housing developments.
* During a dry period, we will set fire to several cornfields, razing them to the ground and creating a wide open space where we can see incoming hostiles.
* Using designs liberated from the library, we will start constructing a bunker. Everyone must have a room to theirselves, a central room, and pillboxes from which we can defend the bunker.
* A garage will be build out of wood and corrugated steel, plentiful materials in my area. All vehicles will be parked in here, along with machine equipment.
* An escape tunnel will be built under the bunker, but this will be a long-term project.
* Using fertilizer and ammonia from the food plants, we will start mixing high explosives. Claymore mines will be created and ringed around the bunker, except for a single road into the place.
* I don't have much hope for acquiring heavy guns, or maintaining stocks of ammunition for more than a few weeks. Frames will be constructed on the fronts of vehicles, the better for ramming groups of zombies. Heavy weaponry will have to consist of potato guns loaded with homemade pipe bombs, or makeshift flamethrowers.
* Eventually, my plans call for the building of klieg lights and electric fences. However, we will have to make sure that vital equipment is always ready to go in case we are outnumbered.
* Long term, I will bring the local fertilizer/pesticide plant back online and begin producing chemical weapons to clean out the local ghettos. Special attention will be paid to the production of Nerve Gas, which I'm positive will be effective against zombies.
Of course, explosives will be manufactured at the local General Dynamics Propellants plant (Yes, we have one) and we will be bombing other chemical plants to prevent anybody in the Northwest from gaining an edge against us.
Eventually, we will have a largish community of 150 people, with couples and friends clustered in bunkers. We will not all live in a central bunker, due to security and psychological issues.
Remember I mentioned jet fuel? That's right, my town has the largest air base west of the Mississippi. Feel free to come up here, and bring what you can. If you can't land on the airstrip, you have no business in the air. Of course, to travel to the bunker complex from the airport, you'll need to drive on a freeway that goes past two ghettos.
I will be broadcasting on the frequency 100.3, from a local radio station. This will be used to communicate with survivors in the area, although the callsign will be changed from KWIQ to KAOS (A pretty good album, Radio KAOS, but also a real radio station.)
If need be, we can turn a local warehouse into a greenhouse, but I don't think that will be neccessary. We can grow corn, onions, potatoes, wheat, carrots, and peas nearby, but also pumpkins, tomatoes, watermelon, and apples on a limited basis.
I'm not sure what we'll do for power. It's concievable that we could keep the dams on the Columbia River running for a decade, but we'll need to maintain the power lines and such, and I'm not sure we'll have the manpower or the materials to do that.
And now for my two best sources of food during the Zombie Outbreak.
During the first twenty four hours, it is IMPERATIVE that you commandeer a pickup or an SUV, and then drive around and get food from fast food chains.
It makes perfect sense. During the Apocalypse, everyone and their dog is going to go to the supermarket, or the gun shop, or the local National Guard base. NOBODY will stop for a Big Mac. And each fast food chain contains enough food for several months. Be sure to hit a variety of places, as hamburger gets old after a while.
And come back for the deep-fat fryer later.
The next place to hit: Vending machines.
Carry around a crowbar to get into these, they are worth it. They are usually in groups and contain enough bottled drinks to last a while. And save the bottles: you will need them.
And one last point for tonight: Your melee weapon of choice.
Of course, melee with Zombies should always be avoided. However, sometimes you don't have a choice, and melee weapons are great for opening doors and containers.
But swords are pretty limited, and chainsaws are cumbersome and suck gas.
So, be sure to pick up a FUBAR.
Notice the hammer head, perfect for smashing drywall and zombie heads? Or the wrench, perfect for tearing two-by-fours and limbs? Or the crowbar tip, great for opening vending machines and locked doors? And then there's the edge below the hammer head, which can be honed to a razor sharpness.
So, who's coming?

Well my plan is fairly simple...I will go suicidal.
Nah. First ill go and get weapons and ammo from where ever, gun stores, sports autority, etc. Then i will raid Wal-Mart and get tons of food. Wait ill go to King Kullen and get the food, because EVERYONE will go to Wal-Mart. Next ill get cement and wood and baracade myself in my house. Then i will sit back, play the X-box, go on the computer, Rocky Bowboaing my brothers, listen to Disturbed, Slipknot, Rihanna, Katy Perry and make up jokes about a kid in ym school called Brandon Singh.

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
Rasq, will you be able to make accommodations for a helicopter? I figure that the airports will be swamped with people trying to flee, and it will thus be hard to land on any airstrip. My dad works off of a local airport, Falcon Field, and I have immediate access to an array of helicopters and varying sizes, and the basic skills needed to pilot one from point A to point B (no fancy maneuvering, though).
I think the major flaw in Rasq's plan is the early stages. While a camper makes for a quick getaway, I think it would be best to set up somewhere easily fortifyable and expand from there. However, hitting fast food joints and vending machines is clearly pure genius.
Oh, and Recon, I'm not saying I'm going to kill you, but rather, that in the event of a zombie outbreak, I would have a higher than average chance of snapping and going insane. ;)

Re: TCF Zombie Plan
I doubt anyone will even have power to go online, and even if they do then they won't be chatting on here and making serious plans to leave familiar territory to go to some random person they have never met hundreds of miles away.
Most I would do is(that is if I have absolutely nothing left to do around the safehouse and somehow have internet) would be to make an announcment thread and tell everyone to post their current location and if they can support others to come.
I personally would not risk my life for a single one of you, sorry but that's how it is.

random person? We've been talking to each other every week for 3 years!
I think getting us all together and fighting zombies would be fucking awesome.
You wouldn't be risking your life just to come to our assistance, you'd be risking your life so that you may become leader of a post apocalyptic micro-nation.
