Re: Hawken
Yes! Seems to be coming along very nicely. Love it.
So, after hearing that Hawken is going to be a F2P game, which of course means a release for the PC seems to be the only release. But, after looking at their website I found this: "What platform is it for? Hawken will initially be released on the PC."
Which means that hopefully a console version is still in the works. Of course this game will probably play a lot better on the PC (and look better too) but seeing this from their site makes me happy as I do not have a PC yet for games. 12-12-12 is a ways away though so perhaps I shall have the machine to play PC games by then. But still, a console version for us who don't have the luxury of PC gaming just yet would be nice.

Re: Hawken
Got in the beta. I played it for a few hours today, and I'm finding it very meh. Graphically, it doesn't look nearly as good as it did in the previews due to low quality textures, very bland colours, a film grain effect that you can't disable, and the body of the starter mech looks like a microwave with a wind shield wiper.
Gameplay wise, I found it not all that fun since you don't get a lot of feedback whether you are being shot or shooting someone. You're just shooting things whose healthbars decrease, and the only indication you're being shot is your health goes down and it desaturates your screen so it looks even blander.

Re: Hawken
A little late to the party on this, but I've been playing hawken for a couple of days now and I must say it is super fun. Plus I hear that are making a party system to make it easier for groups to play together and actually stay on the same team.
